A 16-Bore Flintlock Pistol, And Another Of 28-Bore The First By Durs Egg, London, Circa 1800, The Second By Rea Of London, Early 19th Century Both reconverted from percussion, the first with sighted barrel signed along the sighting flat, foliate engraved bevelled lock decorated with a Britannia shield and club on the stepped tail (safety-catch replaced), figured full stock (fore-end with old split on one side) with characteristically chequered rounded butt, border engraved steel mounts comprising trigger-guard, butt-cap and turned ramrod-pipes, the former with pineapple finial and decorated with martial trophy and foliage on the bow, and later horn-tipped ramrod (some wear and pitting); the second with two-stage brass barrel, octagonal breech engraved 'No. 3', signed lock, figured full stock with rounded butt, brass mounts (side-plate replaced, trigger-guard mostly replaced), and later bone-tipped ramrod, Tower private proof marks (2) 22.8 cm. and 18 cm. barrels For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
