NATURAL PEARL AND DIAMOND CLUSTER BROOCH, CIRCA 1900 2.87 carat button-shaped natural pearl Cushion and old brilliant-cut diamonds, approx. 2.45cts total Maker's mark, Austro-Hungarian assay mark Central pearl cluster detachable Length 5.3cm Weight approx. 12.5g Footnotes: The Gem & Pearl Laboratory: natural saltwater, report number 23703, 12 September 2023. OVERALL CONDITION Some surface wear to unhallmarked metal (testing as 12-13ct gold and silver) commensurate with age. Some discolouration visible throughout. Pin fitting stamped with maker's mark FK and A. Mount stamped with Austro-Hungarian assay mark (A 4 flanking a fox head), A and maker's mark FK. PEARL Displaying a white body colour with rose and green overtones, and a medium lustre. Some wrinkles and blemishes visible under 10x magnification. Scratch to nacre visible under closer inspection.
