AMETHYST RIVIÈRE NECKLACE, 19TH CENTURY Oval-cut amethysts within foiled closed back pinched collet settings Length 42.1cm Weight approx. 53.5g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Some surface wear to unhallmarked metal (testing as 9-11ct gold) with some spots of discolouration and some denting to reverse of settings, commensurate with age. Some spots of solder to some links visible, signs of repair. Clasp secure. AMETHYST Central amethyst measures very approx. 14.4 x 17.4mm (depth not possible due to closed-back setting). Displaying a light to medium purple hue with some inclusions visible under 10x magnification. Some small abrasions to facets/facet edges seen under 10x magnification.
