An English Bridle-Gauntlet For The Left Arm Circa 1630-40, Probably English Of iron, with rounded elbow-length cuff of two pieces riveted together and each with turned upper edge, the inner one with an extra riveted lame forming an extension over the base of the thumb, the hand of six downward-lapping articulated metacarpal plates and an embossed knuckle-plate, and later finger and thumb scales riveted to leathers, the main edges bordered by incised lines, and with dome-headed rivets throughout (old file marks and pitting overall) Footnotes: Cf. a similar example sold in these Rooms, Antique Arms, Armour & Modern Sporting Guns, 31 July 2013, lot 538 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
