Corgi Toys was one of the manufacturers creating themed delights for kids. Its cars have become a sought-after collectable these days, either for across the board or a specific type.

The toys were introduced in the UK in July 1956 by the Mettoy company and manufactured in Swansea, Wales, for 27 years before Corgi went into liquidation. The brand name came from the Welsh dog breed.

The first of the film and TV tie-in models appeared in March 1965: The Saint's Volvo P1800 (258). Most successful was 007's Aston Martin DB5 (261) from Goldfinger, issued in October 1965.

A good selection is offered in the Toys & Models auction at Suffolk saleroom Lacy Scott & Knight on April 29. Here are five suggestions on what to buy.
