Four detached folios from a calligraphy album,Iran, 17th century and later including one with the ostensible signature of Ahmad al-Nayrizi and date 1114AH/1703ADTwo works laid within wide light green borders with thin gold and black rules, the first with an illuminated frontispiece, the headboard (sarlawh) with central lobed cartouche in gold left plain, lobed medallions above and below amidst scrolling floral tendrils on blue ground,  verses of the Qur'an below, 5ll. of black script, polychrome dotted gold roundels as verse markers, slanted marginal annotations below giving a string of numerals 0, 8 and 3 (٣, ٨, ٠), possibly a date, interlinear gold ground within black and pink thin margins ; the second with 6ll. of similar script on similar ground, within thin white margins, flanked by four calligraphic panels in black script, two other panels above and below in red script, each within similar thin margins, the whole within black and pink margins within thing gold and black rules ; and two works laid within wide pink borders within thin gold and black rules, each in black ink shikasteh script, the first with 6ll. of script in bolder strokes interspersed with 5ll. of thinner calligraphy, the second with 5ll. of script, the interlinear space laid with plain rectangular headers either side a plain column41.6 x 28.4cm.(4)Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of 'Abd al-Wahhab Khan, Nizam ul-Mulk (1848-1916) and thence by descent in the early 20th century to a private London collection

The footboard with a piece of bamboo now loose. The headboard with some repair to the Rattan and very minor damage. The twine strapping loose and damaged in a few places. The varnished finish discoloured as mentioned in the description but not illustrated there is an additional pine support frame which would help hold a mattress or cushion. A LARGE RED VELVET UPHOSTERED SINGLE BED IN THE LATE 17TH CENTURY STYLE EARLY 20TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY BY LENYGON & MORANT The headboard with arched scrolls, the foot with scroll ends, close covered in red velvet and damask, comprising headboard, footboard, side rails, box springs and mattress, small label inscribed "DUNECHT 2474" 167cm high, 230cm long, 140cm wide approximately Provenance: Christie's "THE COWDRAY SALE: WORKS OF ART FROM COWDRAY PARK AND DUNECHT HOUSE, AT COWDRAY PARK, WEST SUSSEX", 15th September 2011, lot 662     Condition Report: Mattress looks untouched but with some reddish stains and measures approximately 194 by 119cm. The material covering the frame overall is in poor condition. The bolts within the frame holding it together do not bite properly into the frame and one is slightly bent. They may require replacing and will need remedial work to the holes before safe domestic use. Please see additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report.
