A viola and a violin, circa 1900. Both are of German origin and lack labels. The back of the violin, which is stamped 'Stainer', has an approximate length of 33.5cm. The viola has a two-piece back with an approximate length of 40.4cm. The instruments are cased, with a single bow and a Wolf Forte-Primo rest. Estimated in-house shipping for this lot is available to the UK for £40.50.Additional natural light photographs of the viola have been uploaded. The 40.4cm back measurement of the viola does not include the button, the back measures 41.5cm with the button included.There appear to be two restored splits (please see final photograph).There is also a 2cm long chip to the lower left purfling, as seen in the photographs.

R.N.); Royal Fleet Reserve L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 2nd issue (J.11393 (Ch. B.15624) W. C. Hills. A.B. R.F.R.) nearly very fine (4) £100-£140 --- Wilfred Charles Hills, a shop boy from Gravesend, Kent, was born on 26 May 1895. He attested into the Royal Navy as a Boy on 24 February 1911. Advanced Able Seaman on 27 September 1914, at the start of the Great War he was serving in H.M.S. Hibernia and served at Gallipoli. He saw later service afloat in Q-14 H.M.S. Viola, and afterwards in H.M.S. Warwick, with whom he was wounded during the Second Ostend Raid on 10 May 1918. Discharged to shore on 31 March 1920, he joined the Royal Fleet Reserve the following day. Sold with copy service papers and the book ‘From Great War to Grytviken, Viola, The life and times of a Hull Steam Trawler’. In 1982, Viola became quarry for the infamous Argentine scrap metal expedition to South Georgia, which initiated the Falklands War.

Viola: 228 x 165 cm Symmetry: Each panel approx 243 x 194 cmReference: See Victoria & Albert Museum, London, accession numbers T.285:5-1999 (Viola) and T.281:2-1999 (Symmetry) for other examples of these fabrics. Barbara Brown became known as the 'golden girl' of Heal's fabric designers. Now in her early 90s, Barbara Brown first sold her fabric design to Heal's buyer Tom Worthington from her final degree show when she was studying at the RCA in 1953. She became one of their leading designers for the next two decades. Her strongly geometric designs often have a 3D quality, and drew on the optical art movement of the 1960s. She acted as a consultant to other companies and is widely regarded as one of the leading textile designers of the mid twentieth century.

Mardon Son & Hall - x12 pieces of original artwork, believed to completed by artists who worked for Mardon Son & Hall Ltd Bristol, for cigarette card designs. The artwork appears to be painted on top of photographs, originally taken by Reginald A. Malby, a British photographer from the early 20th Century. Featuring multiple different types of flowers, such as 'Androsace Sarmentosa', 'Primula Pubescens', 'Viola Gracilis' and others. All mounted. Measuring approximately 19.5 cm x 13.5 cm including the mount. Reginald A. Malby was an official photographer for the Royal Horticultural Society and his company won the RHS medal in 1915, the RHS Gold Grenfell medal in 1926 and after his death, his company won the Veitch Memorial medal in 1941. When Malby set up his business in the 20th Century, colour images were rare, so his highly coloured images were at the cutting edge of photography. Malby took photographs of a variety of subjects such as people, historic buildings, but his strength lay in flowers and rare plants.

Lady Mary Elizabeth Bennet (1785-1861) An album of landscape views, various diminutive sizes, pasted into an album, mixed media, watercolour, graphite, and pen and ink, album 20.5 x 32cms. Notes: Daughter of the Earl of Tankerville, whose family seat was Chillingham Castle. Bennet was a watercolour artist, and was included in many exhibitions. Trained by John Varley in London, and from 1815-1823 she worked with artist John Linnell in engravings and miniatures on ivory. Together they produced a set of 12 engravings depicting Chillingham Castle, not published until 1818.She married Sir Charles Miles Lambert Monck, of Belsay Castle in Northumberland. Here she worked with her gardener William Richardson to cultivate new strains of tri-coloured viola pansy flowers.

Amanda Waller's (Viola Davis) task force unit wore their helmets as they led a group of criminal metahumans, including Deadshot (Will Smith) and Harley Quinn (Margo Robbie), through Gotham to apprehend the ancient metahuman The Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). This helmet is ultimately unseen in the final cut. This helmet (size L) is made of black dense rubber with resin sides, black foam padding, and a black nylon chin strap marked "Scott" in silver-color ink on the interior. The helmet features cloth patches on the sides silk-screened "ATLAS" secured with fastening strips, a black resin lens scope, and black acrylic goggles with a black elastic strap. The sheets show evidence of having been previously stuck in some form of scrapbook- the four corners show evidence of adhesive to the verso of the sheet. The sheets appear in good overall condition- no obvious losses, tears or issues- a few have minor creases to the corners but not extending into the paintings. There is some general ageing (yellowing) to the sheets in some cases, usually concentrated around the edges- likely from handling. A few examples have some minor and sparsely distributed foxing. The colours are well preserved and bright, no obvious fading or paint loss. The surfaces appear to be stable.
