A garnet framed portrait miniature brooch, the oval portrait of a young girl in a white dress with a blue sash and holding a flower, painted on ivory, with flat faceted garnet surround, all in closed backs, in silver gilt, with pin and later safety chain, 43mm longScratches on glass and some light wear to garnets. Surface dirt under glass and between garnets.Wear and some discolouration to mount and backing. Pin appears to be a later addition. Small metal plaque / addition to top (possiby from where a hanging loop would be).

Small loss to glass at 9 o'clock and tiny chip at 5 o'clock.Crown a little stiff but still turns and hands move. World War One centenary Art Trail - stained glass picture. With Intricate etchings, this imaginative stain-glassed lead lined piece of artwork features battle scenes of the conflict on the right, and an up to date scene of the area covered with green fields and trees on the left. The 3ft 6in wide by 1ft 4in high window features a host of items associated with the fighting including a shell blast, an explosion, barbed wire, soldiers, a casualty of the battle, a gun carriage, a shattered wheel and poppies dotted in each corner. Etched round the perimeter is: 1918 One hundred years on 2018 … We Will Remember Them. This lot was part of the WW1 public art trail around Bury St Edmunds to raise funds for My Wish Charity 'Every Heart Matters' campaign and to commemorate the centenary of the ending of World War 1.
