Four WW2 US Army Sweetheart Items, Cushion Cases, Handkerchief, Nice collection of WW2 US Army sweetheart related items. Includes two cushion covers in the classic US style depicting vehicles and troops in the Army, one of which has the serviceman’s name and ‘Fighting 96th Okinawa, Shima’ relating to the 96th division that landed there. A felt pendant from ‘Camp Campbell’ featuring tanks and jeep upon it, with the 20th Armd patch glued to the centre. Lastly a colourful silk hanky from ‘Camp Carrabelle’ Florida. All in good condition with vibrant colours.

Britain in the Blitz Willys MB Jeep A World War II period Willys MB Military Jeep with rear canvas tonneau & hoops, spare wheel & spare fuel can on the back. There are no apparent markings or data plates on the vehicle but it does have spark plugs on top of the engine rather than angled ones, a split windscreen with no name on it & a 9-slot front grille. The vehicle looks to be in very good, complete condition but will need some attention, having stood as a static display in the Britain in the Blitz Exhibition since 1984.1977 this jeep was almost certainly used in the production "A Bridge Too Far" as were most of the Lamanva vehicles.Provenance Ex Lamanva collection Cornwall until 1984 since then at FlambardsPurchasers may need to comply with The Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 The jeep is not currently running however the motor appears complete,it has not been possible to turn over by hand, it is not known where the jeep was sourced from no paperwork exists & no chassis numbers have been located, there are no identifying data plates There is some rust in the drivers floor pan and outer skin, the supporting frames look relatively good. Engine block with cast number D15 4M to right hand side of block an extra image has been added to assist More photos have been added showing some rusted areas under the driver's side. There are some old riveted repair patches added inside the outer edges of both footwells and rusting in both of these regions. There is a rust hole at the back of the rear toolbox, some damage to either end of the front bumper, one of the blackout shrouds is missing from one of the headlights, the radiator filler cap is missing and there is general wear and bodywork knocks as to be expected on a vehicle of this age and use. The engine will not turn over by hand and we cannot determine the condition of the engine, gearbox or running gear.

The American M.P. wears a U.S. Army jacket with buttons, an embroidered MP badge & 3 rank stripes, army trousers, a blancoed webbing belt, spats, brown leather boots & a white painted helmet liner with MP painted on the front.

1945 Willys Jeep. Registration number: YWG 585. Mileage displaying: 17,807. American supplied in 1945 Willys Jeep. Then transferred to the British army and served in World War Two ref data plate on the Jeep. Released from the British army and sold in 1957. This Jeep has clearly been restored to a high standard at some point in it's life. Second World War - Major T. W. Jackson - 1939-1945, Burma Stars, Defence Medal, BWM with MID oakleaf un-named as issued and GSM S.E. Asia 1945-46 clasp to Major T.W. Jackson I.A.O.C. swing mounted as worn, good very fine or better, with matching ribbon bar and set of swing mounted miniatures. With excellent album of official correspondence, newspaper cuttings, letters etc, Thomas William Jackson in 1939 was 3rd Engineer of the skeleton crew of HMS Grasshopper who went to the rescue of the burning Danish M/S Alsia near Ceylon, with photos, telegram of thanks etc. 1941 letter confirming his appointment as an Ordnance Mechanical Engineer in the Indian Army Ordnance Corps, Indian Army ID card with photo, much correspondence and drawings of his design for a Jeep Stretcher Mounting Equipment, promoted A/Maj 18/1/45, post WW2 served with 38th Ind Inf Workshop Coy, a few Japanese occupation banknotes. A newspaper cutting states of his going to the aid of a woman being robbed in Singapore. Post-WWII he transferred to REME and transferred to RARO 15/3/59. Also, further documents, to include; Institution of Work Managers Associate Member Certificate, 4 Corps Commanded by Certificate, The War Office letter, two Military Commissions with George VI Emergency Commission dated 5.12.1941 with Signature to upper left and QEII First Service Commission dated 21.3.1952 with signature to upper left. Superbly interesting lot well worth viewing.
