Great War Photograph Album and Scrap Album, compiled by George W Jefferson and Infantry officer, album starts with images taken during training at Roos, East Yorkshire in 1915. Many officers are identified including some who were later killed during the war, posed photograph of three officers wearing PH gas masks. Album has some civilian photographs before moving to 1917 and again officers at rest in Waltham, good images of officers in various Scottish regiments uniforms. Towards the back of the album is a stunning photograph of a British officer posing in France loading his revolver in full combat kit with the caption underneath “BLANCO SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE 1917”. Accompanying the photograph album is an album of newspaper cuttings relating to the Great War, mostly appear to relate to men in Scottish regiments and men from Kincardineshire (Mearns). Both albums are not related. (81 images in the first album, 2 items)

BREVETE", with folding trigger, blued steel cylinder and mounts, and locking wave-blade, 4 1/4" folded, 8 1/4" fully opened (Illustrated) Provenance: handed to the owner in 1995 inside the Cahill's chocolate box by the original owner who had been the girlfriend to one of the Razorhurst Gang members in the Darlinghurst area of Sydney, Australia
A German Reichs-Commissions revolver, single action, six shot, frame marked for Erfurt 1893, safety catch to left hand side behind the cylinder, wooden grips, serial 6906, possibly an M83 generally good condition, action slightly stiff, some knocks to the wooden and slight pitting to the barrel due to age, barrel approx 11cm long

A Geo V officer’s sword of The Royal Artillery, straight fullered blade 32”, etched with crown, R Arms without supporters GVR cypher and wreath on one side and winged lightning with “Royal Artillery” and cannon on the other, all in scrolled, fenestrated panels, regulation plated (dull) triple bar hilt, plain pommel, chequered backstrap, with leather knot, in its leather (worn and torn) FS scabbard, with Sam Browne belt, frog, revolver holster and lanyard, cartridge pouch and shoulder strap. A 5 shot .44” Remington New Model Army percussion revolver, number 96561, with address and patent dates on barrel, the grip with inspector’s initials “OWA” (O W Aimsworth), WO & basically GC (action requires attention, worn overall with some light pitting and bruising, all but one nipple missing).
A 5 shot 54 bore Ordnance Issue Beaumont Adams DA revolver, the frame engraved with broad arrow and “WD” and “B1940/ Adams’ Patent No 17268R” (worn), the cylinder also engraved “No 17,268R”, the top strap engraved “Adams & Compy London”, with chequered walnut butt. Basically GC (worn and partly refinished, action AF, small parts missing) Plate 9
A 6 shot 54 bore open frame bar hammer self cocking transitional percussion revolver, 11” overall, octagonal barrel 4¾” engraved “F Barnes & Co London”, B’ham proved, with scroll engraved rounded frame, hammer pierced for sighting, finely chequered grips and engraved butt trap. GWO & C, the barrel retaining some original blued finish (slightly worn overall, small split to one grip, butt trap lid detached but present). Plate 9
A 5 shot 80 bore Adams Model 1851 self cocking percussion revolver, 10” overall, barrel 5” engraved on the top strap “Reilly, New Oxford Street, London”, London proved, the frame engraved with scrolls and “No 20,713T”, with chequered walnut butt and steel butt cap. GWO & C, retaining some original blued finish. Plate 9
A 19th century oak case for a revolver, 12” x 6¾” x 1¾” internal, with plain brass circular lid and keyhole escutcheons. GC (no internal compartments, the lid very slightly warped); with key to case, a pewter topped rectangular glass oil bottle by Dixon, a small cap tin with printed paper label, and a reproduction embossed pistol flask.
A contemporary coloured cartoon print “His Royal Highness the Duke of York”, larger than life, on a small horse and brandishing his sword, 8” x 10” in an old maple frame; a small framed print of Napoleon; 2 prints of warships (not framed); a leather cartridge belt and holster; a replica Colt percussion revolver; a pair of calf length boots. A Belgian 6 shot 7mm self cocking pinfire revolver, 6½” overall, octagonal barrel 3¼”, Liege proved, the frame numbered 2188, with folding trigger and plain ebony grips, the metalwork with traces of nickel plating overall. GWO & basically GC (the hammer a crude replacement, the plating worn)
