The DSC, which is dated 1944 (1943 silver date mark) is contained within its original Gerrard & Co case and is accompanied by its corresponding Admiralty letter of notification of the award 'for gallantry, skill and undaunted devotion to duty shown during the landing of Allied Forces on the coast of Normandy in June 1944' dated 22 November 1944.
