JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE BLUE LABEL CASKS EDITION 1L BLENDED WHISKY This expression was exclusively sold in the now defunct travel retail Johnnie Walker House stores.55.8% ABV / 1L When John Walker opened a grocery, wine and spirits shop in the Ayrshire town of Kilmarnock in 1820, he had no idea that it was the start of a journey that would end up with the biggest selling Whisky brand in the world bearing his name. The Johnnie Walker Striding Man, the square bottle and the label, placed at exactly 24° would become an iconic sight. Not just in the Whisky world, but in the mainstream as well. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is considered the jewel in the brand's crown. Only one in every ten thousand casks is considered of the appropriate high quality for this super premium blend. An extraordinary whisky for extraordinary occasions.

MACALLAN AMBER SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 40% ABV / 70cl There are few distilleries in the world quite so revered as Macallan. Nestled in the heart of the Speyside region, the rich spirit that runs from their “curiously small stills”, and their penchant for Spanish Sherry casks have proven to be a match made in Heaven, delighting the tastebuds of whisky connoisseurs around the globe. With demand far outstripping supply, they embarked upon one of the most ambitious distillery upgrades of all time, investing £140 million in an ultra-modern still house and visitor centre that seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape, and is home to a whopping 36 stills capable of churning out around 15 million litres of spirit every year. Even so, getting your hands on a bottle can still be tricky, with new releases selling out as soon as they hit the shelves, and older examples regularly setting records at auction.
SPRINGBANK 1993 20 YEAR OLD PRIVATE CASK #575 CAMPBELTOWN SINGLE MALT Distilled: 1993Bottled: 2013Matured in cask #57554.8% ABV / 70cl There are very few distilleries left in Scotland that have the capacity to carry out 100% of the whisky making process onsite, but Springbank can make that claim. Situated in Campbeltown (the former whisky capital of the world) the distillery produces three distinct styles of single malt: lightly peated Springbank, heavily peated Longrow, and triple distilled, unpeated Hazelburn.Despite being a relatively small distillery, Springbank has cultivated a global cult following, with older expressions such as their legendary Local Barley series commanding eye-watering sums at auction. There are no condition issues to note. Please see additional photos.
ARDBEG ALLIGATOR COMMITTEE RELEASE ISLAY SINGLE MALT The Missouri new oak casks used to produce this limited edition whisky were heavily charred, leaving their insides resembling alligator scales.51.2% ABV / 70cl Located on the island’s rugged south coast, Ardbeg distillery represents the peatier end of the Islay spectrum. While it has endured some tough times, spending several years mothballed, the distillery has undergone a bit of a renaissance since being bought over by Glenmorangie and is now on a stable footing. While it still retains its signature sooty spirit, Ardbeg has also adopted its new parent company’s fondness for experimental cask finishes, arguably increasing its appeal.
SMWS 10.17 BUNNAHABHAIN 1975 18 YEAR OLD ISLAY SINGLE MALT "Of Linseed and Walnuts"Distilled: 03/1975Bottled: 01/199459.5% ABV / 70cl Purpose built in 1881 by William Baxter, Bunnahabhain distillery on the northeast coast of Islay featured housing for its workers, as well as its own pier for ease of transporting whisky and materials to and from the mainland. As with most distilleries, much of its life was spent producing blending stock, but in the late 1980s it began to appear as a single malt.Initially this single malt output was mostly sherry matured and so lightly peated as to be barely perceptible, placing Bunna’ firmly in the minority of Islay whiskies. However, since its takeover by Distell in 2013 around 20% of the spirit produced there is now heavily peated, with these expressions bearing the name “Moine” (the Gaelic word for peat). Fill level is in mid / high neck. Please see additional photos.
BOWMORE 10 YEAR OLD GLASGOW GARDEN FESTIVAL ISLAY SINGLE MALT 40% ABV / 70cl Sat on the picturesque shore of Loch Indaal, Bowmore is a distillery steeped in mythology and legend, ranging from tales of Sea Dragons and Devils in churches to, er, seagulls. Making use of Islay’s abundant peat, Bowmore whisky can be smoky and briny, but it distinguishes itself from its contemporaries with notes of tropical fruit and Parma Violets. Most famous among whisky auction regulars are its outstanding “Black” releases. These 1964 vintage sherry bombs were available for a snip when they made their debut in the early 1990s, but are now capable of commanding five figure sums at auction.

MORTLACH 1997 MANAGERS' CHOICE SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 57.1% ABV / 70cl Dubbed “the Beast of Dufftown” by whisky writer, Dave Broom, Mortlach uses a complicated distillation process that minimises copper contact and produces a sulphurous “meaty” spirit that is perfect for blending (not unlike Benrinnes and Dailuaine).Until relatively recently, the only way to experience it in single malt form would have been the 16-Year-Old Flora & Fauna, or the occasional independent bottling. This was because most of its output was used for Diageo’s Johnnie Walker blend. However, that all changed in 2014 when Mortlach introduced its own core range of single malt expressions. The bottle and labels are in excellent condition. The fill level is in the low neck. There is some minor wear to the carton consistent with age. The booklet is included. Please see additional photos.
KNOCKDHU 21 YEAR OLD LIMITED EDITION CASK STRENGTH HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT Bottle Number: 2018 / 620057.5% ABV / 70cl The distillery was founded in 1898 by John Thompson, and the acclaimed Whisky architect Charles Doig designed the site. The name of the distillery comes from the Gaelic 'Cnoc-an-dhu', meaning 'little black hill', quite probably a homage to the hills that surround the distillery. The box label is peeling slightly. Weight of bottle and contents: 1154g Please see additional photos.

GLEN GRANT 1969 33 YEAR OLD HART BROTHERS SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT Distilled: 10/1969Bottled: 01/2003Matured in Sherry Wood51.5% ABV / 70cl Glen Grant was the first distillery in Scotland to have electric lighting installed, thanks to its forward-thinking owner, and all-round colourful character, Major James Grant. Grant was an innovator who was one of the first people to realise the potential of exporting whisky abroad. Initially, this paid dividends, and in 1897 The Major began construction of a second distillery across the road. However, as was the case with so many distilleries built around this time, Glen Grant 2 was mothballed after just a few years. Although, it did re-open in 1965 under the name Caperdonich. While it might not be a household name in the UK, Glen Grant is consistently one of the top selling single malts in Italy due to the groundwork laid by legendary importer Armando Giovinetti in the 1960s. It, therefore, seems appropriate that the distillery is now owned by Campari, an Italian company. Fill level is in mid neck. There is some rusting to the tube lid. Please see additional photos.

GLENLIVET 25 YEAR OLD GORDON & MACPHAIL 26 2/3 FL OZ SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 70° Proof / 26 2/3 fl oz One of the very first distilleries in Scotland to be granted an official licence, after the passing of the licencing act in 1823, Glenlivet distillery has become synonymous with Speyside whisky. So much so, that at one point 28 other distilleries in the area adopted “Glenlivet” as a suffix to their own brand in order to piggyback on the reputation Glenlivet had built for itself. Although that practise has fallen by the wayside in recent years some independent bottlers still use it.The Glenlivet brand is now one of the most recognisable in the world, and despite the distillery undergoing an expansion and upgrade (beginning) in 2010, their iconic 12-Year-Old expression still had to be discontinued for a few years before production was able to catch up with demand.
LAGAVULIN 11 YEAR OLD MANAGER'S DRAM 2013 ISLAY SINGLE MALT Bottled: 12/2013Bottle Number: 079557.1% ABV / 70cl The Islay distillery of Lagavulin first gained notoriety in 1862 when it was acquired by the well-known blender, John Logan Mackie. He then passed the reins to his nephew Peter, who is credited with the creation of the highly regarded White Horse Blend. This blend was so successful that by 1924 the Mackie group changed their name to White Horse Distillers, before becoming part of the DCL group a few years later. Lagavulin single malt was still produced under the White Horse Distillers name until the late 1990s when it became part of the Diageo conglomerate. The most famous advocate of Lagavulin is probably fictional character, Ron Swanson, from hit US sit-com Parks & Recreation. However, Nick Offerman (the actor who plays Ron) must also enjoy a drop, as he has partnered up with the distillery to create his own limited-edition whisky.

Only a small portion of the whisky made there is used for blending, with most bottled as a single malt in the form of their official 14 Year Old, and the Montilla Fino Sherry double matured Distillers Edition.
LAPHROAIG 10 YEAR OLD ROYAL WARRANT 1994 ISLAY SINGLE MALT 40% ABV / 70cl Founded in 1815, and often considered to be the whisky equivalent of Marmite (in that you either love it or hate it), Laphroaig is a smoky, medicinal tasting whisky from the south coast of Islay. Clearly more people fall into the “love” category though, as Laphroaig is one of the top ten best selling single malts in the world. Just as well, then, that it is the second largest distillery on the island (after Caol Ila), capable of producing 3.4 million litres of spirit per annum. The distillery still retains its own malting floor, and although it only covers 20% of their requirements, it is instrumental in providing the creosote-y, phenolic character that defines the Laphroaig spirit.

BALVENIE 10 YEAR OLD FOUNDER'S RESERVE COGNAC BOTTLE SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 40% ABV / 70cl Balvenie is part of the Grant’s family and sits beside its sister distilleries, Glenfiddich and Kininvie, in the Speyside burgh of Dufftown. Established in 1892, just a few years after Glenfiddich, Balvenie has spent its life supplying the heart of the Grant’s blend. In fact, it wasn’t until nearly 100 years later, when Kininvie was built, that it was able to seriously market its own single malt. One of very few distilleries to retain its own malting floor, Balvenie is slightly unusual for a modern Speyside whisky in that it still uses a small percentage of peated malt to make its spirit. While the new make it produces is far from smoky, this small amount of peat gives it a distinctive character that has helped it become one of the best-selling malt whiskies in the world. The bottle and labels are in excellent condition. There is some damage to the carton and the lid is detached. Please see additional photos.
PORT CHARLOTTE PC11 EORNA NA H-ALBA ISLAY SINGLE MALT One of 12,000 bottles released59.5% ABV / 70cl Given Islay’s peaty reputation, the assumption might be that the islanders themselves favour big smoky whiskies. However, it’s actually Bruichladdich with its traditionally unpeated style that has earned the reputation as the local favourite. It’s only relatively recently that the distillery has dabbled in peated whisky with their Port Charlotte range, as well as the ultra-heavily peated Octomore releases.

SINGLETON OF GLEN ORD 16 YEAR OLD MANAGER'S DRAM 2016 HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT Bottled: 12/2016Bottle Number: 030362% ABV / 70cl The Black Isle distillery of Glen Ord has suffered a bit of an identity crisis over the years. It has produced single malt whisky under a variety of names: Glen Ord, Glenordie, Ordie, Muir of Ord, and (simply) Ord. Today its name plays second fiddle to the Singleton brand, of which it is a part, alongside Glendullan and Dufftown distilleries. Like Springbank and Roseisle, Glen Ord is one the few distilleries that can satisfy its malting requirements in house. Their use of very lightly peated malt, combined with a distillation process that maximises copper contact, results in a grassy spirit that reveals notes of ginger as it matures in the cask.
BENRINNES 11 YEAR OLD MANAGER'S DRAM 2020 SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT Bottled: 10/2020Bottle Number: 019453% ABV / 70cl Despite churning out 3.5 million litres of spirit every year, Benrinnes is seldom seen as a single malt, with most of its output getting hoovered up by various blends. Those who do seek out the scant few special releases and independent bottlings will be rewarded by a meaty, powerful whisky, akin to Mortlach or Cragganmore; a result of the complex distillation process and use of worm-tub condensers.

LEDAIG 1996 8 YEAR OLD GLENKEIR TREASURES 50CL AND LEDAIG BURN STEWART ISLAND SINGLE MALT Ledaig 1996 8 Year Old Glenkeir Treasures - 40% ABV / 50clLedaig Burn Stewart - 42% ABV / 70cl Qty: 2 Ledaig (pronounced letch-ick) was the original name of Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, but today it is reserved for the distillery’s peated output. The distillery itself, founded in 1798, is among the oldest still in operation. A fact that is even more remarkable when you consider its chequered history of closures totalling more than eight decades. Thankfully, things have been on a more even keel recently thanks to owners Burn Stewart and Distell, with the peated Ledaig brand in particular garnering praise from reviewers and whisky fans.

LAGAVULIN 11 YEAR OLD MANAGER'S DRAM 2013 ISLAY SINGLE MALT Bottled: 12/2013Bottle Number: 085057.1% ABV / 70cl The Islay distillery of Lagavulin first gained notoriety in 1862 when it was acquired by the well-known blender, John Logan Mackie.
GLENLIVET ARCHIVE SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 43% ABV / 70cl One of the very first distilleries in Scotland to be granted an official licence, after the passing of the licencing act in 1823, Glenlivet distillery has become synonymous with Speyside whisky.
MACALLAN 1960 80° PROOF CAMPBELL HOPE AND KING 75CL SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 80° Proof / 75cl There are few distilleries in the world quite so revered as Macallan. There is some staining to the labels. Fill level is at top of shoulder. There is also damage and staining to the carton. Please see additional photos.
