Osteologia Nova, or Some New Observations of the Bones, and the Parts belonging to them, with the Manner of their Accretion and Nutrition, 1st edition, 1691, imprimatur leaf before title, two engraved plates including one part-folding, publisher`s ad. leaf at rear, faint library stamps to title and plates, old inscription struck through on title, modern morocco gilt over marbled boards, spine slightly faded, 8vo (179 x 110mm) The first complete and systematic study of the structure of the bones. Havers gave the first full description of the microscopic structure of the bone canals made for the passage of blood-vessels, named `Haversian canals` in his honor` (Norman 1024); G-M 387; Krivatsy 5363; Wing H1162.
