Beckwith, London c.1805-1910, A pair of flintlock travelling pistols by W. A Beckwith of London, signed 'BECKWITH' to the lockplates. With short, octagonal, rifled barrels of 16 bore. Fully stocked with engraved brass mounts, the butts with flattened strip. Flat lock-late with sliding safety catch. Approx. 56-60 calibre Contained in its original oak partition casing, with Beckwith trade label. With original accessories. Provenance: Purchased circa 1990 at Peter Dale Ltd. Pall Mall, London Property of a nobleman Dimensions: (Each gun) 9.5 in. (L)
