Alfred Dunhill, white metal, niello and inlaid Japanese designed cigarette case, rectangular form the the front decorated with fighting cocks, the reverse with a chick and three character signature, stamped Alfred Dunhill, New York, Made in Japan, 8x8.5cm.Condition report:It is not a lacquered case, it is niello technique. The exterior surfaces have all-over surface scratching and wear. There is a 2mm spot blemish below the tail feathers of the cockeral on the ground to the "front". There is a pinpoint ding to the righthand side which has travelled through and has affected the interior surface as well as the exterior. The back has a 3cm scratch above the chick which has also caused a bit of an indentation. The patina to the interior is much cleaner. Hinges and clasps work well. Signatures and markings are clear.
