A royal knight's helmet from Mel Gibson's historical epic Braveheart. The knights of King Edward (Patrick McGoohan) accompanied their monarch at the Battle of Falkirk, which saw the defeat of William Wallace's (Mel Gibson) army. The helmet is made of sheets of steel riveted together, with two narrow eye slits at the front and small holes around the mouth for breathing. The interior is fitted with leather straps to secure the helmet during wear, and is padded with black foam for comfort. The helmet has some wear from production use and age, including scuffs, scratches and rust, both inside and out. The foam padding has degraded and large parts have come away from the helmet. The Dragonslayer's axe and a knight's sword from Rob Cohen's fantasy adventure DragonHeart. An axe was carried by one of the dragonslayers hired for King Einon (David Thewlis) by his mother Aislinn (Julie Christie). Bowen (Dennis Quaid) later held onto the axe when he swung out on a pulley, causing Einon to fall off the parapet during the climactic battle scenes. Swords were wielded by Einon's knights when they battled Bowen's army of villagers. The axe comprises a black metal head featuring a dragon-head emblem at the centre, and a long, dark-stained wooden handle. Intentionally distressed for the production, the Saxon knight's sword consists of a steel blade, a curved crossguard, a black leather grip and an oval metal pommel. The sword is stored in a black leather scabbard, which features a brown waist strap. Signs of wear include corrosion on the sword blade, scuffing on the wooden handle, and a slightly wobbly axe-head. Don "Wardaddy" Collier's (Brad Pitt) tanker jacket from David Ayer's war drama Fury. The US Army sergeant wore his tanker jacket throughout the film as he led a Sherman tank crew on a destructive mission through Nazi Germany.The jacket is made from brown cotton with a woollen lining and knitted, ribbed collar, waistband and cuffs. Division and rank patches decorate both sleeves and a large repair patch adorns the right elbow. Marked as a size 40R, the jacket features two large pockets on the front and a zip fastening. Intentional distressing and stains have been applied all over to produce a battle-worn appearance. The lot exhibits signs of minor wear, including light plucks and a small rip on the top of the right pocket, while sections of the hand-stitching around the patches have become loose.Estimate: £2,000 - 3,000 M
A Praetorian sword from Ridley Scott's historical epic Gladiator. After Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) became Emperor, he gained the Praetorian Guard, an elite unit of the Imperial Roman Army, as his personal bodyguards.This sword features a broad metallic blade with a varnished black wooden hilt with a faux gold band reading "SPQR" ("Senatus Populusque Romanus", or "The Roman Senate and People"), a ridged guard, and a rounded pommel. It is in fair overall condition with visible signs of wear and combat use from production, including dents, nicks, and discolouration throughout the blade. Balian de Ibelin's (Orlando Bloom) hero sword from Ridley Scott's historical epic Kingdom of Heaven. The sword initially belonged to Balian's father, Godfrey (Liam Neeson), who bequeathed it to his son upon his death. Balian then used the sword for the remainder of the film, while defending Jerusalem from Saladin's (Ghassan Massoud) army. The sword is metal with a wooden hilt. Its metal pommel features the cross of St George and its metal guard is adorned with a dog's head at each end. Two short metal chains are looped around the hilt, on either side of a leather grip. The sword is intentionally distressed to look well used, and there are small nicks and dents along the length of the blade, giving the impression it has been used in combat. There is additional wear from production use and age, including scuffing and scratching, and some slight discolouration around the pommel and dog's heads. The Scorpion King wielded his sword in the opening battle scenes, as he and his army swept their way across Ancient Egypt. The sword is made of hardened rubber with a metal armature and is painted to look like solid gold. It has a long, curved blade, decorated with two scorpions at the base. Rubber tassels shaped like scorpion tails dangle from the pommel. The sword has some wear from production use and age, including scuffs and scratches. There are also two areas on the blade where the paint and rubber have warped slightly, revealing the armature beneath. The "Undefeated Gaul" wore his costume in multiple episodes as he served as a general to ex-gladiator Spartacus' (Liam McIntyre) rebel army.The costume comprises two red leather embossed pauldrons (one labelled "R, Crixus Stunt"); a textured cape-like piece draped over one shoulder; two mismatched brown leather bracers; an Aztec print fabric sash; a heavily embellished red belt with adhered leather strips; a pair of suede briefs featuring chain mail sections; a leather-and-metal codpiece; a stunt rubber sword housed in its scabbard; and a dagger which is affixed within belt loops at the back. Tion Medon's (Bruce Spence) HB-9 rifle from George Lucas' Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Tion Medon greeted Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) at Pau City's spaceport and informed him that General Grievous and an army of battle droids were located on the city's 10th level. This weapon was made for the production but was ultimately not seen in the final cut of the film, as the Pau'ans were mostly portrayed through the use of CGI.Made of solid resin, the long blaster rifle features a front sight mounted above the tip of the barrel, a circular hand-turned recharge valve located above a static trigger, and a long, curving buttstock. The majority of the weapon is finished in faux silver, with brown, dark purple and metallic burgundy components. There are minor signs of historic repair work on the front sight, the join between the stock and the receiver, and the tip of the shoulder stock. The rifle also displays paint wear from production use. An Arachnid Warrior's broken attack leg from Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi satire Starship Troopers. After Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien) joined the war between humans and the alien Arachnids, the most common species he encountered in battle was the Warrior Bug, the primary soldier of the alien army. This fibreglass and foam core piece was designed and fabricated by Academy Award®-winning special effects group Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI) as part of one of the battle-damaged large-scale practical Warrior bugs. It is hand-painted with alternating yellow and black segments and some green painted blood by the jagged back section where it was removed in battle. It is in good overall condition with some dirt staining, paint chipping, and a hairline crack down one side of the leg. A synth police robot suit display from Len Wiseman's sci-fi action remake Total Recall. Robots were used to police the territories of the United Federation of Britain and the Colony, and thousands were later used by Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) as a Colony-invading army.The suit comprises of a helmet with a black acrylic facemask; a jumpsuit; a chest guard; a pair of shoulder guards; a back guard; a waist cover; two arm pieces; a pair of gloves; leg armour; a pair of shin guards; and a pair of shoes. The majority of the armour is made of resin and hand-painted, with the waist cover made of brown-painted rubber. The jumpsuit is made from an elasticated black fabric and has white printed sections to replicate the appearance of mechanical components, which were enhanced with CGI in the finished film. Several sections - most notably on the chest - feature printed badges reading "Federal Police", with the unit's serial number and the words "Rapid Response Unit". The suit comes on a custom-built display stand, whose base features the film title. Achilles' (Brad Pitt) hero helmet from Wolfgang Petersen's mythical epic Troy. Achilles wore his helmet while in combat throughout the film, from the opening battle against the army of Thessaly, through to the storming of the Trojan beaches, culminating in the sacking of Troy.Legendary Oscar®-nominated costume designer Bob Ringwood created Achilles' look, and this helmet was specially made to fit Pitt's head. It was also unique to Achilles, clearly marking him out on the battlefield, so much so that Hector (Eric Bana) thought he had slain Achilles, only to find it was Patroclus (Garrett Hedlund) wearing Achilles' armour and helm. The helmet is bronze-plated metal with long cheek guards and a large black plume of faux horsehair. It contains a leather padded cap to protect the wearer, as well as leather lining inside. The helmet has some wear from production use and age, including some scuffs and scratches. Some of the leather lining is slightly loose. Alabama's (Patricia Arquette) hero stabbing Swiss Army knife and dinosaur keychain from Tony Scott's romantic crime film True Romance. Alabama used her Swiss Army knife to injure Virgil (James Gandolfini) while fighting for her life, stabbing him in the foot and then in the back. The corkscrew was welded in place to ensure Arquette's safety while she used it. The knife is attached to a yellow-and-grey rubber dinosaur via a short metal chain. It has some minor discolouration at the base of the corkscrew from the welding, and some of the paint on the dinosaur has worn away. Viktor's (Bill Nighy) Death Dealer armour and hero dagger from Patrick Tatopoulos' action-horror prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Viktor wore his armour alongside his Death Dealer army during the battle against the Lycans, and notably held his dagger against Sonja's (Rhona Mitra) throat after discovering she was pregnant.The costume consists of a fibreglass helmet featuring a movable face guard and long synthetic hair; a chest plate with attached layered pauldrons; a long leather coat; a black undershirt; elbow guards; a pair of bracers (labelled "Viktor 3rd Left" and "Viktor 3rd Right"); a pair of gloves; an ornate belt (labelled "Viktor"); a full-length and shorter length leather cingulum militare; a pair of leather trousers and a pair of lace up boots. Completing the lot is a dagger comprising a thin metal blade, black rubber grip and a faux-silver pommel bearing a "V" motif. The weapon comes with a black leather sheath featuring metal hardware. The costume and dagger exhibit light paint wear, scuffing, corrosion on the dagger sheath and discolouration on the bracers due to being exposed to water. A Penguin rocket from Tim Burton's superhero sequel Batman Returns. After his plan to kidnap a group of children was thwarted by Batman (Michael Keaton), supervillain The Penguin (Danny De Vito) commanded his army of penguins, each of which was armed with a rocket attached to its back, to attack Gotham City in revenge. This white foam core and plastic rocket features a spiral of decorative red tape and has been affixed with a resin thruster at its base and three fins. It is in fair overall condition with wear from production, some paint chipping, a hole on one side of the rocket and a broken fin and warhead tip. Kael wielded his signature sword as a commander in the Nockmaar army, including when he dueled to the death with Madmartigan (Val Kilmer).This distinctive steel longsword features wavy edges at the top, two pronged hilts with curved iron detailing, a tan leatherette and suede grip, and a rounded pommel. The sword exhibits visible knicks and scratches to the blade from use, as well as discolouration to the leatherette, but it remains in good overall condition. The commander of evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda's (Jean Marsh) army, General Kael, was tasked to hunt down the baby prophesied to bring the downfall of Bavmorda.This lot consists of a helmet made of resin reinforced with fibreglass, finished to resemble the look of worn bone, and featuring silver-colour embellishments, brown-and-white synthetic hair across the crown and jaw, a metallic grey-painted resin shield-like emblem on the forehead, matching resin wing-like elements on either side of the helmet, and a brown foam-latex hood beneath a metallic silver-colour painted woolen chain mail hood; a black elastane-blend under-hood beneath the helmet; a black cotton-blend cape with matching tunic and trousers; metallic silver-colour painted woolen chain mail sleeves; matching woolen chain mail and leather gloves; fibreglass and plastic armour painted black and grey with brown leather straps including spiked shoulder and upper arm plates, scaled torso armour with a metal-studded central plate featuring a symbol resembling a Celtic cross, and greaves; and a pair of brown leather boots.
