A GEORGE VI SILVER HOT WATER JUG AND CREAM JUG by Adie Brothers Ltd, Birmingham 1938, Art Deco style, the hot water jug tapering rectangular with canted corners, raised on a conforming stepped foot, with stained wooden handle and finial; the cream tapering octagonal with an angular handle, raised on an octagonal foot. (2) Hot water jug 21cm high overall, 21.4 troy ounces grossMarks clear and well struck. Cream also struck with unidentifiable (blank) lozenge to underside. Both standing upright, significant rocking to hot water jug foot. Hot water cover hinge very sturdy, cover dented and misshapen around rim, especially to front corner. Finial loose but attached. Minor dings to each, light surface marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
