A silver-mounted travelling dressing table set, by Asprey and Co, London 1912, the covers initialled, comprising: a silver-mounted spirit flask with a pull-off drinking cup, plus five various silver-mounted glass jars and bottles, a seven-piece manicure set with ivory handles, a purple leather stationary wallet, two jewellery boxes and various brush covers, in a fitted purple leather case, initialled 'H.R', approx. weighable 4oz.
An Asprey of London coromandel wood and brass bound travelling toiletry set, the lid brass inlaid "For Lillian", the interior with mirror and fitted removable drawer with seven glass and silver mounted bottles and a silver lid (minus glass base), hallmark for London 1872, each piece with engraved monogram all above a lower plush lined fitted jewellery drawer. Length 30.5 cm, height 20 cm, depth 23 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good unrestored original condition. All brass bindings are present. The left hand front brass upper right is slightly lifting at the top and the pin is visible. The top of the casket has a full width hairline split beneath the "Lillian" inlay and there are numerous small stress fractures to the veneers in particular to the right hand side. The sides of the piece have minor stress fractures. The back is in better condition. There are veneer nibbles to the underside edge of the front left of the lid and around the edges of the drawer. There is a veneer replacement to the bottom right hand corner and other small nibbles. The brass hinges are original. The interior seems to be all present and only a little tatty. All of the glass bottles appear to be in good condition with no significant chips or damage. The exception to this is the long rectangular silver lid does not have its glass base. Three of the circular lids are a little misshapen and dented. The lock is present but loose, the drawer mechanism operates as it should

(23 x 54 x 37cm.)
