GWR crossing keepers warning bell, complete with machine engraved shelf type plate KNIGHTS CROSSING. The Mahogany case is stamped twice on the front GWR and on the back GWR MAKERS PADD AY and comes complete with a miniature church bell. A rare item indeed. Knights crossing was on the line between Midgham and Colthrop in Berkshire.

The Botanic Garden; Consisting of Highly Finished Figures of Hardy Ornamental Flowering Plants, Cultivated in Great Britain, Volume IV, Bell & Sons, London, 1878, blind-stamped dark mauve cloth gilt (faded) with floral motif to upper cover, frontispiece and a further forty-one hand-coloured plate illustrations, eight page publisher's list, quarto (ex library, but with clean plates; lacking spine strip).

A George III oak eight-day longcase clock, late 18th century, the four pillar rack and bell striking movement with 12 inch square single sheet brass Roman numeral dial with subsidiary seconds dial, arched calendar aperture and signed 'DICKERSON, FRAMLING'M' to centre, with Arabic five minutes to outer track and symmetrical oval hatched panel centred scroll engraved decoration to spandrels, in a case with fretwork crest above reeded columns to hood, the trunk with rectangular caddy moulded door flanked by reeded uprights, on plain plinth base with moulded skirt, 204cm high.

A fine Sheraton period Irish inlaid mahogany serpentine sideboard, with cross-banded and ebony/boxwood stringing to the flamed top and drawer fronts, the drawer having canted brass handles, the square taper legs having satinwood ribbon bow and bell-husk marquetry and fan infils, 230cm wide, 82cm deep, 93cm surface height. Provenance: This was made for General George Vaughan Hart (1752-1832) for his house at Kilderry in Donegal and remained in the family through moves terminating at The Manor House, Glinton, Nr Peterborough..
