An 18ct gold open-faced pocket watch by Benson, the signed dial with black Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, internal presentation inscription dated 1890, London marked for 1880, case 52mm, 122g total Family tradition holds that it was purchased in 1894 by Connor Magee, Archbishop of York, and given to his son as a 21st birthday present and has been in the same family ever since.

Lady's J W Benson 18ct yellow gold and enamel half hunter pocket watch. The watch having white enamel face with blued hands 32mm, Roman dial and subsidiary minute dial, case nr 044 Sheffield hallmark, dated 1904, gross weight 46 gms, engraved dust cover 'Presented to Ruth Try by her mother and father for diligence July 4th 1908', watch back also engraved Ruth.
