A Victorian burr walnut and brass bound decanter box, opening to reveal a green leather lined interior with four cut glass decanters and stoppers, with Crown Staffordshire bottle tags inscribed "Port", "Sherry", "Whisky" and "Brandy" and a turned wooden miniature funnel, 23 cm wide x 21.5 cm deep x 23 cm high CONDITION REPORTS There is one area of missing brass work. Lots of damage throughout to the veneer. The top is heavily discoloured, water marked etc. Piece is heavily scratched throughout. The interior has some discolouration and staining and heavy wear to both the leather and fabric. Some signs of insects. Battered to the hinge edge. One of the decanters has a chip to the rim and another has a chip to one of the edges. The wooden funnel has a small chip to the turned decoration on the tube and does appear to have some rubbish to the interior. Heavy wear and tear conducive with age and use and poor storage. Some clouding, discolouration to the glass throughout as well as various firing flaws/bubbles etc - see images for more details.

The stand having a shaped central handle over three-sectioned pierced decanter holders with molded foliate rims. The lot to include a Brandy, Holland's & Rum decanters decorated in gilt details. All measures approx. 40cm x 20cm x 20cm.

Various silver plate and three small silver pieces. The silver comprising a brandy label, napkin ring and candlestick (15 cm high). The silver plate to include a three-sconce candelabra (28.5 cm high), a four-piece tea and coffee service by J.H. Potter, three trays (the largest 39 x 26 cm) and various flatware.
Drink.- Cognac.- Delamain (Robert) Histoire du Cognac, signed presentation copy to H.H. Gordon Clark, half-title, full-page map of the region and a facsimile of an 18th century printed document, portrait of Alfred de Vigny and illustrations within text, original printed wrappers bound in, little marked, 20th century blue buckram, rubbed and marked, 8vo, Paris, Librairie Stock, 1935. *** An excellent association copy. H.H. Clark was one of several generations of the Clarks / Gordon Clarks to have worked for the family firm of Matthew Clark and Sons, City of London wine & spirit importers, founded in 1810. They represented the great brandy house of J. & F. Martell of Cognac from 1814. The presentation inscription reads 'To H H Gordon Clark Esq. who has been for so many years one of the best friends of the Cognac district and of its fine product'. Includes the viticulture, production and economics of the region through the ages.
