Registration No: JAJ 133V Frame No: 4H3-001894 MOT: January 2025Rare in the UK XS1100 Midnight Special modelPresented in distinctive Black and Gold standard trimSupplied with some receipts, catalogue and a V5CThe Yamaha Motor Co. was formed in 1955 as the powered vehicle division of the massive Yamaha Corporation, then more famous for making musical instruments. The first bike, produced in 1954, was the YA-1, which, like the BSA Bantam, was heavily influenced by Germany’s DKW RT125, but in typical Japanese fashion it was soon improved upon with the launch of the YA-2 in 1957. This was an immediate success in sporting events in Japan, initiating a long succession of achievements that are still being added to in Moto GP. More famous for their performance two strokes, the four-stroke XS-1 650cc twin was first seen in 1968 and by the late ‘70s Yamaha had a full range of XS models from 250cc to 1100cc. The Midnight Special was based on the standard XS1100 but with distinctive Black paintwork with Gold accents. Only produced in 1980 and 1981, it is thought that only 250 were made each year. This Midnight Special has spent most of its life in the USA before being imported into Britain and authentically restored around 2019/2020, keeping as much originality as possible. A distinctive and rare limited edition model with its Deep Black finish and Gold highlights, it certainly stands out from the crowd, especially with its chrome four-into-two exhaust system. Run in March (see video), it passed an MOT on 12th January and comes supplied with lots of receipts, an American magazine featuring the model, an original sales brochure and a current V5C. Registration No: 312 UYO Frame No: 224280 MOT: ExemptBeautifully restored Heinkel PerleGreat attention to the restorationA must-have for the autocycle collectorCurrent V5C on fileFollowing WWII, Heinkel was prohibited from manufacturing aircraft and instead built bicycles, motor scooters and the Heinkel microcar although the company eventually returned to aircraft production in the mid-1950s. Heinkel built the Perle moped from 1954 to 1957, a sophisticated cycle with a cast alloy unit frame, rear suspension, a fully enclosed chain with part of the chain enclosure integral with the swing arm, and interchangeable wheels. This high level of sophistication came at a high cost. As with most mopeds, it had a two-stroke engine with a displacement of 50cc that operated on a mixture of gasoline and lubrication oil. Approximately twenty-seven thousand were sold. This very unusual Heinkel Perle has been restored at great cost and must be one of the best on offer today. The attention to detail on the restoration by the previous owner must have been a labour of love. This would make a great addition to a cycle motor collector. Part of a collection of small machines the late vendor was gathering it’s not been used for a while and has been up on a platform in the collection. Some light recommissioning would be advised before use. It is offered with a current V5C, sales brochure and booklets. Registration No: AL 5761 Frame No: 68221 MOT: ExemptNicely restored and well specifiedAn excellent Banbury Run contenderDescribed as 'a very enjoyable and easy machine to ride'The Nottingham-based Campion concern had made their name as a producer of bicycles prior to their involvement in the motorcycle industry. Active from 1901 until 1926 they offered a range of machines varying in size from lightweight two-strokes to larger four-stroke singles and V-twins, all powered by proprietary engines. Campion bought in powerplants from the likes of Minerva MMC, Fafnir, Precision, Villiers, Blackburne and JAP. They also supplied frames to other companies. Built in Robin Hood Street, Nottingham and Nottingham registered, 'AL 5761' features a JAP V-twin engine driving through a Sturmey Archer CS gearbox, an arrangement also interestingly favoured by Nottingham based Brough and others, producing prestigious sporting motorcycles during the Vintage era. Purchased by the vendor in restored order, he describes ‘AL’ as a very enjoyable and easy machine to ride, with plenty of power and importantly, a decent rear drum brake! The seller advises that although ‘AL’ is in good order it should be checked over before use. An excellent opportunity to acquire a nicely restored and well specified ‘long legged’ and capable flat tanker, an excellent Banbury Run contender and so much more. The paperwork file includes both V5 and RF60 logbooks, restoration notes and letters etc, a quantity of photocopied period press cuttings, a Campion sales brochure and JAP engine information etc. For more information, please contact: Stewart Parker info@handh.co.uk 07836 346875

Registration No: P522 NOE Chassis No: SA94418004D09834 MOT: June 2025Finished in Indigo Blue complemented to a Tan interior1 owner & just c.2,080 miles from newOffered with original order form, handbook and sales brochureStill retaining the factory chalk marks on the hoodThe Morgan 4/4 was in production for an amazing eighty-three years (1936-2019), a fact that earned both manufacturer and model a place in the Guinness Book of Records. The Malvern Company’s first four-wheeled / four-cylindered design (hence the name), it stayed true to the same tried and tested formula for generations. Unveiled in 1993, the Morgan 4/4 1800 was faster, cleaner and more frugal than many of its predecessors. Based around a box-section ladder-frame chassis equipped with independent 'sliding pillar' front suspension, a leaf-sprung 'live' rear axle and disc / drum hydraulic brakes, the aluminium over ash construction of its bodywork contributed towards a commendably low kerb weight (circa 868kg). Embracing the marque tradition of using proprietary running gear, the newcomer was powered by a Ford-sourced 1796cc four-cylinder ‘Zetec’ engine (complete with fuel-injection and double-overhead camshafts) allied to five-speed manual transmission. Impractical yet beguiling, the 4/4 1800 sported a basic interior, minimal luggage space and potentially argumentative hood offset by a singularly involving driving experience and vivid acceleration.Finished in Indigo Blue complemented to a Tan interior, the 4/4 is a one owner example with just c.2,080 miles from new and still retaining factory chalk marks on the hood. The vendor had to wait nearly a decade for the Ford powered Morgan once the order form had been submitted. Offered with that original order form through Mike Duncan Morgan agents, it is evident that 'P522 NOE' was ordered in Indigo Blue with Stone trim piped with Blue, featuring Blue carpet with Stone piping and a walnut dashboard; the vendor collected the car from the factory. Accompanied by a collection of old MOT paperwork, the aforementioned original order form, handbook and sales brochure, it is offered with the current V5C Registration Document. Registration No: LC51 ELX Chassis No: WDB1290682F204658 MOT: March 20251 of a limited production run of just 100 UK market carsWarranted 59,000 miles from new and just three former keepersVery nice example with the book pack in stamped service bookOffered from a private collection“One glance is enough to tell you just how special this glorious car is. So special, in fact, that only 100 models will be produced for the UK – with each one certified as authentic by Mercedes-Benz and Sir Stirling Moss” (Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, limited edition brochure)Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the fourth generation (R129-series) Mercedes-Benz SL was styled in-house by Bruno Sacco. Often cited as the highlight of his career, the sleek Roadster was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated all-round independent suspension was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including: electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second (if the car ever sensed an impending flip). Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin was protected by a fully automated power hood and featured such niceties as memory seats, electric windows and mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet, lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated grand tourer. Launch flagship, the mighty 500 SL (known as the SL 500 from 1994 onwards) was powered by the first of Mercedes' four-valve per cylinder, dual-overhead camshaft V8 powerplants. Credited with 326bhp and 332lbft of torque, this fearsome 4973cc unit was allied to four-speed (later five-speed) automatic transmission as standard. Reputedly capable of over 150mph and 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds, the model was updated with a more emissions friendly but marginally less powerful 4966cc engine from June 1998 onwards.Intended to be a fitting send off for the R129-series, and to pay homage to one of the greatest Mercedes-Benz works drivers, Sir Stirling Moss, the special edition SL500 ‘Silver Arrow’ boasted a unique specification which included: Silver Arrow ‘777’ paintwork, Black / Silver Nappa leather upholstery, AMG body styling, bespoke 18-inch multi-piece alloy wheels, Silver brake calipers, chrome-sheen aluminium exterior trim, illuminated door sills, ‘engine-turned’ aluminium instrument and gearshift surrounds and Bird’s-Eye Maple Black wood trim. Mercedes-Benz only allocated 100 special edition SL500 ‘Silver Arrow’ cars to the UK market. Manufactured in 2001, ‘LC51 ELX’ was one of the 100 UK Silver Arrows, being registered new on the 20th of September that year. Having now covered a warranted modest 59,000 miles from new, the SL 500 has had just three former keepers and is offered from a private collection. Recently benefitting from a service by a specialist in March this year and was supplied with an MOT certificate in March too, with no advisories.A very nice example, the Silver Arrow is offered with a large history file that includes the original book pack in the Mercedes-Benz wallet that contains the owner’s manual, supplementary manuals, and stamped service book which displays ten entries, all completed by specialists, with an additional service invoice in the history file. The file further contains a large selection of MOT certificates, numerous previous invoices, a selection of former tax discs, sundry paperwork, copies of previous logbooks, ‘Own A Limited Edition Mercedes SL’ sales literature, and a current V5C document, as well as having two sets of keys. Silver Arrows are surely a must for the Mercedes-Benz collector and to honour the great Sir Stirling Moss is something all enthusiasts and petrolheads can resonate with.
