A GERMAN ORMOLU-MOUNTED LARGE PORCELAIN CAPODIMONTE STYLE BOX, MEISSEN, DRESDEN, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURYof rectangular form with rounded corners, molded with various scenes including mythological battles and hunts, the border gilt with scrolling foliage, with hinged cover, marked with blue underglaze factory mark and impressed numeral 163 under base; 17 (h) x 29.5 (w) x 17 (d) cm (6 3/4 x 11 5/8 x 6 3/4 in.)CONDITIONThe box is in overall very good original condition. Very minor rubbing to the glaze in places. Some darkening and verdigris to the mounts. Small chip to the lower right edge on the front, only 5 mm long. Otherwise, no significant issues or signs of restoration apparent to the naked eye. N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale. Two (2) Capodimonte fox hunting themed porcelain figural groups, each with a male or female figure on horseback surrounded by hounds. Capodimonte "N" mark to ground. Each - 11 3/4" H x 13" W x 6 1/2" D. All items early to mid 20th century. Provenance: the estate of Victor T. Patterson, Franklin, TN. Note: born in Georgia and educated at the Parsons School of Design, Victor Patterson served as a cultural representative to Russia with Dwight D. Eisenhower's "People to People" program (prior to its privatization) before moving to the Nashville, Tennessee area to pursue a career in interior design. He was associated with Bradford's for many years before starting his own business. He decorated the Tennessee Governor's Mansion and the home of several country music stars in the 1970s, and filled his home on Franklin's historic Fourth Avenue with art and antiques from his frequent travels. CONDITION: Overall good condition. Light surface grime.
