Five wire wheels, with tyres, were fitted (with the wheels themselves coming to £775), and and the engine checked over, with repairs to the gearbox and back axle. New brake pipes were installed while, inside, the dash and door cappings were re-veneered, and the carpets and headlining were replaced. The history folder includes MoTs back to 2009, but going back considerably further, there's the original 1968 green logbook, as well as the operating, maintenance and service handbook, Jaguar service facilities booklet, maintenance chart, service vouchers and other documentation given when the car was brand new, all still in their Jaguar-branded plastic folder. There are a great many bills and receipts dating back to the 1990s, all testifying to a car that has been well-looked after during the last few decades. A lot of these have been handily itemised on a couple of handwritten sheets by one of the owners. For those happy to get their hands dirty, there's a hefty genuine Jaguar workshop manual as well. The car's condition remains very good inside and out. The current odometer reading is 59,027 miles. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 20TH JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Some bodywork was then done on the sills, jacking points, chassis and paint, after which the Jaguar returned to the road. It continued to be used until 2003, when it was garaged again and SORNed. The vendor tells us that the engine and transmission are original, as are most of the fittings. Comes with the original tool kit. Included in the history folder are the V5, and a selection of MoTs from dating back to 1983. The mileage is recorded as 35,129, but at some point, the speedometer was changed, according to the vendor. The 1983 MoT certificate states the mileage as 90,372, while in 1995 it was 34,063, presumably after the gauge had been swapped. 1989 Jaguar Sovereign 5.3 V12 Auto Make: JaguarModel: Sovereign Year: 1989Mileage: 111616VIN: SAJJDALW3CB482443Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G932HUJTransmission: automaticAlthough, in six-cylinder form, Jaguar's Series 3 XJ saloon shape was discontinued with the launch of the more square-rigged XJ40 model in 1987, it continued as a 12-cylinder model until 1992. The Sovereign name was also 'borrowed' from sister marque Daimler marque to denote the top-of-the-line Jaguar variant. This example was inherited by the registered keeper in 2018 from his father-in-law, who had purchased it in 1996. He'd had extensive bodywork done on it during 1998 when it reached 91,435 miles (for which there is a photographic record); however, we're advised that the 111,616-mile car still has its original floors and sills. The well-organised history folder contains the current V5, a large stack of invoices totalling many thousands spent over the years, MoTs dating back to 1994 (which verify the recorded mileage), photos, notes, tax discs, newsletters, and other sundry paperwork, including hand-written notes and diagrams. There's also the original document wallet with owner's handbook, electrical data chart, service book (stamped up to 75,627 miles in 1996), maintenance booklet, specification sheet, pre-delivery inspection checklist and sound system guide. However, what really stands out is the owner's 'diary' - a handwritten log of the car's adventures from August 1996 (at 79,500 miles) through to August 2014 (108,524 miles). The chronicle ranges from jobs such as checking the thermostats in a saucepan of hot water to major jobs such as the suspension, brakes and steering restoration and upgrade from December 2005 to January 2006. There's also a CD detailing all this work. The Jaguar's MoT is valid until August 2022 and it has recently been serviced, at a cost of nearly £800. The car's condition is very good inside and out, with both the grey leather and woodwork in the cabin presenting very well. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 18TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

During that time, it's had Brembo brakes fitted, along with vented discs. Parking sensors have also been added and a new dark blue hood installed, along with Xenon headlamps and two-piece alloy wheels. Under the bonnet, the 2199cc engine has had its cylinder head skimmed, valves polished, and new stem seals and gaskets fitted. In the opinion of the vendor, all that is needed now to make a 'fine car' is the interior upgrading. The odometer shows 90,955 miles, although this is unwarranted. Because the car has been off the road while being modified, its last MoT expired in December 2013. Please note that the roof is currently inoperative. 1966 Mercedes Benz 220 SE Auto Cabriolet Make: Mercedes Model: 220 SE Year: 1966Mileage: 30587VIN: 11102322079111Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: FUN484DTransmission: automatic Nicknamed Gloria, this 1966 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet was acquired by the vendor in 2000, from a family cousin who owned it from 1981. Prior to that, it's believed that the car was purchased new for use by the chairman of ICI. The present owner has used the car for trips abroad including France and Malta. And it was in Malta, during the early part of the 21st century, that it was restored according to the history file; a task not without incident, as the gearbox parts were stolen en route from Scotland to Malta, and the subsequent delay to the rebuild resulted in Malta customs authorities threatening to impound the car. There's an eye-watering amount of paperwork (albeit only dating back to the 1990s), showing lots of care and attention for even minor issues, and a great deal of expenditure. Some of the more recent jobs involved an engine tune-up in May of this year, rectification of a hot indicator stalk, and new padding for the driver's seat. The selection of MoTs (and other paperwork) suggest the current indicated mileage of 130,587 is genuine. The last MoT expired in April 2019; the car was at 127,710 miles when that test was undertaken. The files also contain the original owner's manual, relevant magazine articles, parts lists and diagrams, old tax discs and photos taken throughout the car's life. The Mercedes-Benz is now in need of some work, with bubbling apparent on both headlamp peaks, the rear quarters, and around the rear wheel arches, most significantly the nearside one. See our pictures for more detail. Inside, there's sun damage to the top of the wooden dash - a common issue with these cars - plus wear to the black leather seats. 1959 Fairthorpe Electron MinorMake: Fairthorpe Model: Electron Minor Year: 1959Mileage: 34904VIN: 10173Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: PPM675Transmission: manualFounded by Australian aviation pioneer and bomber pilot Air Vice Marshall Donald Bennett, Fairthorpe built small sports cars from 1954 to 1973. In 1956, it launched the open two-seater Electron, using a 1098cc overhead-cam Coventry Climax engine. This was followed by the cheaper Electron Minor in 1957, which used the less potent engine, transmission and rear axle from the Standard Ten. With various upgrades over the years, the Electron Minor remained the mainstay of Fairthorpe production until 1973, with about 700 being built. In 1990, this 1959 example was found as a wreck (with some racing modifications), and the owner who took it on had it restored in 1991 and again in 2016. After both rebuilds, it was exhibited at the Classic Motorshow in Birmingham. The history folder includes the current V5 plus the original green logbook, a £3750 bill for the 2015 rebuild plus a number of invoices for more recent parts and work and an extensive collection of Fairthorpe Sports Car Club magazines (including one with PPM 675 on its cover). There's also a small Fairthorpe Electron Minor brochure and an album of photos, showing what we assume is the car's 1991 restoration. The Fairthorpe is good order outside and in, with modern (and more comfortable seats) fitted as well as a radio/CD player. There's also a small collection of rally plaques and rosettes from shows and events previously attended by the Electron Minor. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 6TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1974 Fiat 128 1300 Coupe SLMake: Fiat Model: 128Year: 1974Mileage: 60542VIN: 180243Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GDV614NTransmission: manualBased on the boxy Fiat 128 saloon but with more stylish, fastback styling, the 128 Coupe Sport offered sporty performance in a diminutive but practical package. Survivors are rare these days, with this one believed to be the only right-hand drive 1300 SL in the UK. In oh-so-Seventies Positano Yellow, with black interior and 74bhp 1290cc engine, this Fiat has had five registered keepers. The fourth acquired the car in 1989, but after some engine problems, it was garaged in 1992 and didn't re-emerge until 2009. After an engine rebuild, it was treated to a full body restoration, which was completed in April 2011, with the owner at the time stating that 'it was restored with a view to originality while keeping some of the patina'. A full account of what was done is in the history file, along with a selection of photos. Also in the history folder are the V5, owner's handbook, brochures, magazines, spare keys, show memorabilia and an extensive amount of invoices dating back to 2010, chronicling thousands spent over the past decade or so. There are also two copies of the useful but now unintentionally funny Fiat book of Safe Motoring Hints, with such pearls as not being insulted if a car 'of a class inferior to your own' passes you and how 'use of the horn and lights is not an insurance policy against accidents'. Along with a set of spare keys, there are also a 'loads of spare parts to go with the car'. The exterior of the 128 Coupe is in excellent condition, while the interior has been left more untouched. Nevertheless, aside from a small bit of dash damage in one corner, it's also in very good order. 2007 Saab 9-3 Aero V6 S-A Estate 4,175 miles from newMake: Saab Model: 9-3 Aero Year: 2007Mileage: 4175VIN: YS3FH51U261123893Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: KT56KFXTransmission: Automatic First registered on the 31st January 2007. Remarkably for a 14-year old vehicle, this blue 9-3 Aero estate, with 2790cc turbocharged V6 petrol engine, has covered less than 4200 miles from new. Its original owner was Saab but after six months, it passed into private hands. However, it was still used very sparingly, with a period in storage from 2013 to June 2021 while its owner was overseas, after which it was freshly MoT’d at 4165 miles. The car is totally unmodified and untouched, even down to being on its original tyres. The blue paintwork is excellent, while the vendor describes the pale grey leather interior as ‘immaculate’ and 'unmarked', and the driving experience is 'like a new car'. The underside of the car is similarly in great order. The documentation folder includes the original and current V5, original booklets in their supplying dealer binder, HPI certificate, service invoice, and past and current MoTs (with the current ticket expiring in June of next year). There's also the spare key. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 21ST JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

The vendor has had it up on a ramp, and reports that it appears solid underneath, but would obviously benefit a thorough check-over as well as, in the long term, renovation of the fibreglass bodywork. The V5 is present. Included in the history folder is a copy of Classic American magazine, a book on The Secrets of Corvette Detailing, a parts catalogue, 2008 and 2009 MoT certificates and a few bills from the same era. The current mileage is recorded as 69,073 miles; on the last present MoT certificate in 2009, the mileage was recorded as 68,401, so very few miles have been covered over the last 12 years. Please note that there is a DVLA error on the V5, with the car being recorded as a 5.3-litre when it actually has a 5.7-litre V8. Two sets of keys are included. 1974 Mercedes R107 350 SL Fitted with 3.0 dieselMake: MercedesModel: 350 SLYear: 1974Mileage: 136300VIN: 10704322011671Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: JIW6336Transmission: manualThis is a Mercedes-Benz R107 SL with a difference. While it started life in 1974 as a 350SL, it was fitted with an OM617 3.0-litre five-cylinder diesel engine and five-speed manual transmission from a contemporary W123 saloon some years ago, with the conversion being carried out by Ken Dalton of 'Kensbenz' fame. These motors are regarded as among the most reliable ever constructed, with over 600,000 miles between rebuilds quite common. The odometer reads 136,300 miles on this car, although that is not warranted and, presumably, includes the days when it had its original petrol engine. Recent work undertaken includes a re-cored radiator, replacement rear brake calipers and discs, and new front subframe mountings and anti-roll bar bushes. The vendor describes the car as 'generally presentable, although it could be improved. It also has a small dent to the nearside rear wing', He also reports the interior as 'pretty good, but has some wear to the driver's door card' while the soft-top is 'fully-functional, however, as it is original to the car, it is in need of refurbishment'. The SL will come with its existing numberplate. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 29TH JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Big Block 454 ci (C3) LHDMake: Chevrolet Model: Corvette Year: 1972Mileage: 67245VIN: 1Z37W2S503615Configuration: Left Hand DriveRegistration: LYX330KTransmission: automatic This flamboyant bright Sunflower Yellow Corvette hails from the final year that chrome bumpers were fitted front and rear on C3 models, making it one of the more desirable of the 1968 to 1982 third generation breed. In addition, this example also boasts the biggest 7440cc (454ci) V8 engine available for Corvettes of its year. The car came to the UK when new, being registered here in June 1972, and had a brief brush with celebrity when it was featured in in the June 1976 issue of Motor Sport magazine - a copy of which is included with the paperwork. Maintained by specialist garages throughout its life, including the well-known and reputable Claremont Corvette, by 2007 the Corvette had only covered 64,545 miles. It was at that point that the current owner acquired it; his custodianship has seen less than 3000 miles covered over 14 years, bringing the present mileage up to 67,245. This is warranted by the large quantity of maintenance and service invoices stretching back to the 1970s, including 38 MoT certificates, 30 tax discs, and around £15,000 in bills since 2007. The well-presented interior is the original saddle leather in a very rich shade of brown, with little wear apparent, and the car is fitted with automatic transmission, power steering, adjustable steering column, electric windows and removeable roof panels. 1982 Mercedes C123 280 CE Auto Make: Mercedes Model: 280 Cew AutoYear: 1982Mileage: 99421VIN: 12305322025447Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: OJM922XTransmission: Automatic When new in 1982, this smart Mercedes-Benz coupe, in Silver Blue Metallic with Blue leather, was fitted with the options of anti-lock brakes, self-levelling suspension, alloy wheels and a radio, at a total cost of £17,723.20. Its first owner, a doctor from Reading, kept a comprehensive notebook of all work carried out from his first day of custodianship. He kept it until 2007, by which point the mileage was 83,300. The new owner decided to keep the book going, recording new front wings fitted in April 2008, the alloy wheels refurbished in May 2008, and the leather seats recovered in June 2008. When the car passed to its third owner in 2013, situated in Galway, the records continued through to October 2017 before petering out. Between the three owners, a lot of money was spent on maintaining the Mercedes; if it needed a job doing, it was promptly done, usually by a Mercedes specialist. All of this handwritten information - and more - is confirmed by an extensive and well-organised history folder, with bills, MoTs (and Irish equivalents) and tax discs. The vehicle came back to the UK in 2019. The recorded mileage of 99,421 is backed up by the history, and the car is MoT'd until June 2022. Spare keys are included. The car remains in excellent condition, inside and out, with only light wear to the leather seats inside. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 11TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

With 41,120 miles recorded on its odometer - albeit unwarranted - and four former owners, it is in lovely condition throughout and comes with spares and a restored hard-top. Upgrades inside include a burr walnut dashboard and modern Alpine stereo system with large speakers behind the rear seats. The paperwork folder includes the V5 and invoices for servicing, maintenance and parts dating back to the first decade of the 20th century. These include a new rear bumper (£675) and a set of new alloy wheels (£1379.80) in 2016, along with the burr walnut dashboard kit (£486.79) and J-type manual overdrive gearbox conversion (£1050) in 2017. There's even a Christmas card from the specialist who renovated the car's hard-top, complete with a picture of the roof undergoing work on its front, plus a British Leyland warranty for the secondhand purchase of the car in April 1981. Fast forward 31 years, and the car went into storage in 2009, emerging only for a couple of MoTs in 2010 and 2011 before staying off the roads completely until this year. From its 2009 MoT until now, the car has only covered around 700 miles, with the current recorded mileage 87,037. Recommissioning of the Stag cost around £4000 and was done by Stag specialist E J Ward. The work included a reconditioned gearbox, new alternator, battery, radiator, electronic ignition, distributor cap, plug leads, fuel filter and drive belts. It was also serviced and given an MoT, which expires in July 2022. The Stag was fully restored in 1999, with the job including new front wings, rear wheel arches, sills, A-post drip rails, bare metal respray, overhauled cylinder heads and carburettors, plus soft-top frame and new cover. Despite its rebuild being over 20 years ago, the car's conditions remains generally very good, with the vendor advising us that it 'drives very well with a lovely sounding engine'. Inside, the dashboard has been upgraded with burr walnut veneer. There is a huge history file that accompanies the car, starting with its original bill of sale and including MoTs back to 1992. 1979 Citroen GS Pallas Make: CitroenModel: Gs Pallas Year: 1979Mileage: 0VIN: 70gb3554Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: FKN699VTransmission: manualThe Pallas designation represented Citroen's luxury trim level, adding more brightwork, thicker carpeting, and higher-spec upholstery to what was already one of the more intriguing small family cars available during the 1970s. The type bristled with innovation, including an idiosyncratic control layout, disc brakes all around, flat-four air-cooled engine and, naturally, Citroen's trademark hydropneumatic suspension. The paperwork folder for this 1222cc example, in white with brown interior, includes the V5 and MoTs back to 1985, when the current (second) owner acquired the car. These confirm the low mileage of just 24,330, a total helped by the car being stored since 1999. While the car is in good overall condition inside and out, this 12-year period of storage means it will require some recommissioning. A selection of spares are included in the sale, as is a set of spare keys.

It was serviced and MoT'd annually until 2020 when the last certificate was issued and has had very minimal use over the years. The mileage is warranted at 103,610. It comes with all MoTs dating from 1992 (when mileage was 85,739) to 2020 and service and maintenance receipts dating from 2005 until 2019. According to the paperwork, the Rolls-Royce-derived B60 3909cc engine was rebuilt in 2015 - to rectify some broken piston rings - at 103,300 miles, with the cost of the work coming to £3577.32. While there's no documentation detailing a restoration, the car's very good all-round condition, with minimal wear to the beige leather interior (in which even the original transistor radio works), suggests that some renovation work has been carried out over the years. When this might have been is unclear, but this luxurious and prestigious BMC flagship remains very well-preserved. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 26TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
