MFV Porcelaine étrangère Meissen Statuette de la Comedia dell’Arte représentant Scapin debout en tunique blanche et brandebourg or avec son pantalon vert et sa cape blanche, il porte une besace noir et son poignard. Sa main gauche tient sa toque, feuillages sur la base, décor polychrome et or au naturel. Sous la base sont inscrits les chiffres 5290 à l’encre, XVIIIe siècle, vers 1744 Modèle de P. Reinicke Hauteur : 13, 5 cm Modèle similaire dans la série exécutée pour le Duc de Weissenfels. Bibliographie : Meredith Chilton, Harlequin Unmasked, Yale University Press, 2001, modèle similaire reproduit p. 308. L’orchestre des singes a été crée par Kaendler en 1750 puis remodelé et complété en 1765 par Reinicke, les singes males habillés à la mode rococo d’après une inspiration française, représentent les musiciens, et les guenons les chanteuses. Les singes ont des caractères et des ressemblances humaines ce qui les rend comiques. La légende veut qu’ils représentent la caricature de l’orchestre du Comte de Bruhl. Madame de Pompadour achète 19 figures de l’orchestre en 1753. La manufacture de pâte tendre de Mennecy en créa aussi.

Richard Willson, British 1939-2011- Nigel West (Rupert Allason) and the MP who came in from the cold; pen and ink, signed, 37x31cm: British School, late 20th century- "Oh Rupert! And there was I thinking you didn`t fancy us"; pen and ink, signed and titled, 31.5x52cm: Wesolowski, late 20th/early 21st century- "Pat Eddery"; pen and ink, collage on board, signed, titled and dated `81, 47.5x31.7cm: together with another caricature of Ted Kennedy by the same hand, pen and ink on tracing paper, signed, 37.5x24cm, (unframed), (4), (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Note: From 1968 to 1971 Richard Willson was caricaturist and occasional cartoonist on The Observer, and in 1971 he became caricaturist on The Times, contributing to the Business Diary. In 1981, after David Driver became The Times` head of design, Willson was given a wider role, which included illustrating a weekly profile and providing a cartoon for the Saturday paper. He also acted as an occasional stand-in for Peter Brookes, and for Gerald Scarfe on The Sunday Times. Willson also worked freelance for The Spectator, Washington Post, New Statesman, New Scientist, Tablet, Business Traveller, Euromoney, Investor`s Chronicle, Punch, Financial Weekly, Accountancy Age, Computing, Lloyds Log, Ecologist, New Internationalist, United Nations and Racing Post. In addition he produced a considerable amount of advertising work.
