A Goliath carriage watch, silver plated, knob wind, Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. Diameter 75 mm. CONDITION REPORT: The watch is ticking away. The face is in generally good condition with no issues. The watch winds as it should. The outer case has two dents to the rear hinged outer case and the plating is generally rubbed. There do not appear to be any significant issues with this watch.
An Edwardian brass carriage clock, timepiece only, Roman numerals. Height excluding carrying handle 15 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case whilst structurally very sound has lost much of its original lacquer and gilding. It is also very dirty. All of the glass panels are in good condition with no issues. The clock dial does not have any visible damage there are no repairs and no restoration to the dial. The rear door knob is missing. We have the key, the clock winds and is ticking away as it should.
An Edwardian brass carriage clock, with Pompadour pink porcelain panels, timepiece only. Height excluding carrying handle 11 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The brass case is structurally sound and complete. It has however lost much of its original lacquered finish and is dull. The front glass has chips to the top left and right corners. The porcelain side and rear panels are in good condition. We can see no damage to the front porcelain panel either. The clock is currently ticking away and winding as it should.
An Edwardian French brass miniature carriage clock, with chased dial. Height excluding carrying handle 70 mm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock face is a little grubby there is also a hairline crack running across the entire face. The balance wheel moves freely and you can see other cogs ticking inside. The case and glass panels are all in good order but the glass panels would benefit from a good clean.
An Edwardian French brass carriage clock, with two-train striking movement, 1172 grams. Height excluding handle 12 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The case is generally a little dirty and beginning to tarnish but in generally good order. All of the glass panels are in good condition and undamaged. We can see no damage to the face. There may be a very tiny chip to the top right hand corner of the dial but this is obscured by the case in any event. The clock is currently ticking away but is not striking. The strike train is fully wound. The going train winds as it should.
A French brass carriage clock, shaped outline, raised on short feet, cased. CONDITION REPORT: Height to top of case excluding carrying handle 10 cm. There are no visible cracks to the dial. The case is in generally good condition with no significant issues. The front glass has a small chip to the bottom right hand corner. The rear right hand glass has a similar chip to the top left hand corner. The other two panels are in good order. The clock winds and we have the key but it is not ticking for more than a few seconds at a time. We would imagine that the mechanism is simply a little dry as all seems present and correct. The escapement is original.
An Edwardian brass cased and chased carriage clock, with two-train striking movement, movement marked "Bright, Paris". Height excluding carrying handle 11 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The dial appears to be in good order with no visible damage. The case itself is a little tired and some of the original lacquer and gilding is missing. The glass panels are all in good order. The pin which holds the left hand side of the handle in place is missing and there is a wire replacement. The clock is fully wound on both trains and we have not had it running.
A French brass carriage clock, large form, with repeat mechanism, rounded corners, Roman numerals and subsidiary Arabic numerals, 1629 grams. Height excluding handle 13.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains and is ticking away and striking as it should. The repeat mechanism appears to be working. The dial is in good order with the exception of a small loss to the very top right hand corner which is only visible when looking at the clock from underneath as this is beneath the brasswork. The front glass panel has a chip to the inside top right hand corner. All other glass panels are in good order. The case is in generally good condition and there are no significant losses to the original lacquer.
A French brass carriage clock, with repeat mechanism, the dial with Roman numerals, weight 1350 grams. Height excluding carrying handle 12 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock dial has two hairline cracks in the bottom left hand corner other than this is in good order. The case is generally in good condition with some minor scuffs. The gilding and lacquer is a little dull in places. The repeat mechanism appears to operate and the clock is currently ticking and striking as it should.
An Edwardian brass carriage clock, with circular enamelled dial with Roman numerals, timepiece only, 1086 grams. Height 12 cm excluding carrying handle. CONDITION REPORT: The clock winds and is ticking away as it should. There is no damage to the dial. There is slight tarnishing to the bottom right hand corner of the dial but no significant losses. The rear door has very minor chips to the bottom right hand corner but these are fairly insignificant. All other glasses are okay. The watch case is tarnished and has lost at least 50% of its original lacquered finish.
