MAN UTD - RANGERS 74 Manchester United home programme for the game v Glasgow Rangers, 9/3/74, friendly in theory but notorious for some of the most violent scenes ever seen at a British football game, United were perceived as being a Catholic club with strong links to Celtic and Ireland whilst Rangers fans were not particularly angelic at the time, in line with many others it should be stated, but the resulting crowd violence lead to horrific scenes. That United were experiencing a difficult season and one that finished with relegation and more crowd violence in the game v Manchester City which was abandoned shows that supporters of neither of the two teams were capable of being well behaved at the time and this game was an accident waiting to happen and it duly did. Programme is in good condition, complete with token and no writing. Good
