A 19th Century Anglo-Indian coromandel table-top chest of two cupboard doors enclosing a bank of six short over two long drawers, the lower drawer containing two lift-out compartments, 45.5 cm wide x 29.5 cm deep x 35.8 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The top has some bloom/residue to it, particularly on the left hand side as well as a large split running across the panel at the front. Surface scratching. The left hand side has a large split to the back and a large split running all the way down to the back and a small crack approximately 3 cm long roughly in the middle. The same kind of residue that is on the top is also on the sides, almost as if there has been some kind of sticky tape or similar that has been attached to it. The right hand side has similar sticky tape and cracks/splits in the same places. The doors do not shut, they are hitting the knobs and the drawers don't sit flush to the interior but can't see anything stopping them going in. The back has a large split/crack running down the centre and the back has a similar tape and white residue to it. Appears to have been polished at some point and then sanded back all over but particularly to the middle and the top and bottom. The back is bowed. The bottom drawer has a large split to it as does two of the smaller drawers. One of the smaller drawers handle keeps popping off and has been wedged in with paper and the bottom drawer right hand handle is a replacement, possibly the left hand one as well. It's certainly very flat, however this one really does hit the door so it might have been flattened down by that. Appears to be some water damage to some of the door fronts. Heavy wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details. The key that's present works, however because the doors don't close, it doesn't engage with the other side of the lock. See images for more details.
