An interesting 1950’s / 60’s Staffordshire County Police group, formerly belonging to P.W.29 Mary D.Robinson, who was the first female Special Constable in the Willenhall Division. Comprising of a cased Police Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, named to ‘Const Mary D Robinson’ (issued in August 1978). Also, a 1950’s Staffordshire County Police chromed badge, a West Midlands Police chromed badge, and a pair of epaulettes with applied chrome service numbers ‘E 29’. Plus, a 2002 Royal Mint issued Golden Jubilee medallion for the West Midlands Police, a handwritten S.O. Book 121 with notes inside made by Mary regarding legal definitions, a uniform photograph, group photographs, 1950’s books on criminal law, several handwritten notebooks, pocketbooks, several volumes of ‘The Book For Police’ (from 1958), and 8 pieces of mid 20th century Staffordshire County Police pottery by Grindley Hotel Ware. All of the items are housed in a vintage toleware metal trunk. Condition: generally good to most pieces. The medal is generally good and just has some contact marks to the surface from wear, and similarly the cap badges are also in good condition. The period documentation, notebooks and books show a little wear from age and handling, but this is nothing that detracts. The trunk is corroded to the top, but there are no holes or splits to the metal. The pottery items are used, with a couple having chipping at the base. Important note: the trunk and its contents are heavy, and pick up of the item is strongly advised.

Gillespie senior moved his family to Rothesay around 1913 to manage the island’s Palace Cinema, for whom he made topicals of local events and with religious and temperance undertones. One of his films starred his son James coming out of a shop with a bottle of whisky, followed by his younger sister who was laden with all the groceries that could be bought for the same cost as the alcohol. Stirling Gillespie (as he was known professionally) started in journalism first at the Rothesay Express, then the Daily Record, through which he met J Blake Dalrymple who was to bring Gillespie into his film company Elder Dalrymple Productions. Hired to cover the company’s literary and photographic concerns, Gillespie also became involved in the making of films. In 1936 J C Elder and Dalrymple decided to take the company out on Dalrymple’s yacht to make educational films around the world. Gillespie was to act as press correspondent for the Daily Record coverage of the trip. His cabin aboard the yacht was completely fitted out as a developing and printing studio. However, the trip was curtailed prematurely by the Spanish Civil War, so that the only substantial filming to be completed was of a later voyage to the Baltic. In 1937 Gillespie and Dalrymple undertook an overland expedition from Cape Town to Cairo making educational films as they went. Gillespie taking photographs and film, recorded the expedition in a book "Celluloid Safari" and with the film Land of the White Rhino (1939). After the Second World War was over, Gillespie was to make only one more film with Elder Dalrymple "Perchance to Sail" (1947) in which he starred as a young artist at sea. He was then, until his death, to pursue a highly successful career as a watercolour landscape painter.

The cabin is part-trimmed in black leather upholstery, and retains the 2+2 interior with compact rear seats. The car is offered with a well-documented history, including original owner's book pack. The current owner is just the fifth keeper in more than 27 years, and has had the keys for the past dozen of them. ‘G1 MND’ also includes the original tool-kit. The registration number is not included in the sale - though is open for separate negotiation. Coming to auction with an indicated 79,850 miles on the odometer, ‘G1 MND’ is considered in fine condition throughout. Built from 1994, the 993 was offered in four different body-styles – coupe, convertible, targa, and speedster. The last of the air-cooled 911s, the 993 was significantly changed from its predecessor, with just 20% of its parts carried over from the third-generation 964. The 993 was the first generation to feature a six-speed manual transmission as standard. Though most iterations were offered with a four-speed Tiptronic automatic as an option, which became the Tiptronic S from 1995, with steering-mounted controls to change gear. Registration - KX05 VKMChassis No. - JHMAP11305S201486M.O.T. - June 2025Odometer - 41,000Standing out in silver, this example of Honda’s S2000 roadster is presented in a desirable specification with multi-spoke alloy wheels, black folding canvas roof, and red and black leather interioer. Powered by Honda’s free-revving and much-admired 2.0-litre four-cylinder VTEC engine, ‘KX05 VKM’ uses a six-speed manual gearbox to put the power to the rear wheels. Featuring a driver-focused cabin, with switchgear stacked around the instruments in close proximity to the steering wheel, this S2000 showcases the model’s engineering as a driver’s car. This cherished example has been in the current owner’s care for the last nine years, and has been well-maintained throughout the Honda’s near 20 years on the road. It has at least 10 stamps in the service book, a full service history and owner's manuals, two keys, and Honda service folder. ‘KX05 VKM’ also comes with the original toolkit and jack, and has been serviced and MOT’d every year. The vendor considers all areas of the S2000 as in ‘excellent’ condition, which includes the engine, transmission, electrics, bodywork, paint, interior, and electrics. Reading an indicated 41,000 miles on the odometer, the seller tells us this Honda S2000 is completely original and standard - an increasingly rare find in today’s market. Released to celebrate Honda’s 50th anniversary, the S2000 was introduced in 1999, and featured one of the most highly-regarded engines of the era from any manufacturer - the 2.0 VTEC. The roadster carried on the traditions of Honda’s past sportscars, linking them with the ’S’ prefix, and sticking with the front-engine, rear-wheel drive classic roadster lay-out. Launching with the AP1 version, this used double-wishbone suspension, electric power steering, and a 50:50 weight distribution to provide a true competitor in the sports car segment. Five years later, a very mild visual refresh saw more significant changes under the metal, with revised suspension one of the biggest improvements to improve handling. By the time the S2000 came of sale in 2009, more than 110,000 units had been produced. In Summary:Increasingly sought-after example of Honda’s S2000Fun-to-drive roadster in 'superb' conditionLow indicated mileage for its age

Registration No: L842 YCV Chassis No: RCH 54835 MOT: November 2024 • Just 25,000 miles from new and 1 former keeper • Offered with extensive Bentley service history • Supplied new by Bentley main agent Majestic Garage of Bournemouth • Offered from a deceased estate • Purchased from our July 2022 sale for £31,500 The Bentley Brooklands was introduced in 1992 as a replacement for the Bentley Mulsanne and Bentley Eight models. It was intended as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Bentley Turbo R featuring the same styling, underpinnings of the Rolls-Royce 6.75 litre, V8 engine but without the more powerful model's turbocharger. The Brooklands continued Bentley's design theme which was also used on contemporary Rolls-Royce vehicles throughout the 1980's and early 1990's. The exterior design featured the classic Bentley grill as well as dual headlights with wrap-around parking lights. As with many Bentley and Rolls-Royce vehicles, the Brooklands also featured the trademark descending boot lid and chrome B-pillars. The interior remained relatively unchanged from previous Bentley models but with a more curvaceous design element surrounding the leather-wrapped centre console. This 1994 right-hand drive example of the Brooklands is resplendent in Dark Metallic Green coachwork with tasteful Cream leather interior highlighted with contrasting piping on its electric-memory seats. The car has only one previous owner and has covered less than 25,000 miles, supplied new by Bentley main agent Majestic Garage of Bournemouth and serviced every year by Broughtons Bentley of Cheltenham, as detailed in the original service record. ‘L842 YCV’ has been carefully maintained and cared for and comes complete with the service book, owner's manual, tool kits and an original Bentley battery trickle charger. We are delighted to present this magnificent luxury saloon with incredibly low mileage and an excellent service history, the likes of which rarely comes to market. The car comes back to market once more, sadly, following the passing of the owner, and having seen little use, having been purchased from our July 2022 Buxton sale for £31,500 from the original owner from new. A great opportunity to own it if you missed it the first time round. For more information, please contact: Paul Cheetham paul.cheetham@handh.co.uk 07538 667452

Registration No: C7 DWL Chassis No: SAJJNAEC7CC122807 MOT: None • Part of the collection since 2004 • Desirable five-speed manual gearbox • Extensive history file • In need of recommissioning / renovation Introduced in October 1983, the Jaguar XJ-S 3.6 was intended to be a sharper, more sporting foil to the range's established, soporific 5.3-litre V12 model. To emphasise the difference, it was fitted with a five-speed manual Getrag gearbox as standard. With some 225bhp and 240lbft of torque on tap courtesy of its 3590cc DOHC 24 valve straight-six, the claimed 140mph top speed and 0-60mph time of 7.4 seconds were a near match for the V12. Yet when such performance was not called upon, it could reputedly return thirty miles per gallon, a feat beyond the V12's capabilities. A revised, more positive feel to the power steering improved the handling still further. Supplied new by Dutton-Forshaw North West to Canberra Wells Ltd of Manchester on 2nd August 1985, chassis SAJJNAEC7CC122807 has sixteen entries in its accompanying service book the last of which was made by D.W. Lucas Motor Engineer on 10th June 2003 at 88,656 miles. Joining the late Mr Lucas’s collection the following year, the Jaguar passed its last MOT test with ‘no advisories’ on 13th April 2007 at 93,718 miles. Covering a mere 217 since then, the XJ-S has sadly deteriorated and is now in need of recommissioning / restoration. A desirable manual gearbox car, it is surely worth saving?

Registration No: X847 WVK Chassis No: WP0ZZZ99Z1S641006 MOT: February 2025 • c.103,000 recorded miles from 6 former keepers • Offered with owners wallet, handbook and service book • 3.4-litre engine mated to a Tiptronic gearbox • Current V5c document Asked to nominate his favourite generation of Porsche 911 during its 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2013, racing driver and journalist Tiff Needell chose the 996 commenting: "This was the model that brought the 911 into the modern world. We finally got rid of the VW pedals and had a chassis that handled in a much more progressive and controllable manner. Not a convert before, completely converted after!" Traditionalists may have decried the 996's water-cooled engine and shared Boxster componentry, however, the newcomer's use of a brand-new platform (the 911's first since 1963) meant that it was notably lighter, stiffer, and more aerodynamic than its 993 predecessor. Equipped with four-valve cylinder heads, the 996's 3.4-litre engine developed 296bhp and 258lbft (outputs comparable to those of the 993 Carrera RS's 3.8-litre unit). Allied to either a six-speed manual or five-speed Tiptronic transmission, the free-revving flat-six enabled the 2+2-seater to sprint to 60mph in 5 seconds and onto 174mph. More ergonomically laid out and spacious than that of any previous 911, the 996's cabin also boasted a far better HVAC system. Lauded by the contemporary motoring press as the 'best car in the world', it was not only lighter than its forebear but also offered an improved ride and sharper handling. A staple part of numerous diplomatic fleets in period, the W126 remains sought after to this day thanks to its impeccable build quality and timeless lines. One of the more prestigious variants, the 420 SE Saloon was fitted with a fuel-injected 4196cc SOHC V8 engine that developed some 231bhp and 240lbft of torque. Further accompanied by a collection of invoices for the parts purchased in current ownership, the vendor rates the Mercedes-Benz as having ‘good’ engine, gearbox, and electrical equipment ‘very good’ interior trim and bodywork, and ‘excellent’ paintwork. * Gillray (James). Pantagruel's victorious return to the Court of Gargantua after extirpating the Soup-Meagres of Bouille Land, H. Humphrey, Feby. 10th 1794, etching on wove with bright contemporary hand-colouring, large margins, 310 x 360 mmQTY: (1)NOTE:BM Staires 8435. Gillray has executed a complex caricature, critical of the King, the extravagance of his wife, William Pitt and the drunken son of the monarch, Frederick the Duke of York. The Life of Gargantua and of Pantagruel is a series of five French novels by François Rabelais about two giants, Gargantua and his son Pantagruel. In the first book, Pantagruel returns from the University to fight against the Dipsodes to preserve his father's kingdom and property. The impetus for this print was the brief return of King George's favourite son, Prince Frederick, the Duke of York, from Flanders where he had been leading a British/Hanoverian army against France as part of a larger Coalition including Austria, Prussia, and the Dutch Republic. The King and Queen are portrayed as gullible, greedy and grasping. The king accepts the 'Keys of Paris' whilst at his feet are bags of money labelled For Horses, Hounds & other Nicknackatories. Behind the throne and hidden from view, the Queen holds out an apron, which is filled with money by a devil. Her money bags are labelled Spy Money 40000, Flatterers & Toad-eaters 10000, Pin Money 50000 and Private Whim Wham[s] 50000. Funding these nefarious, frivolous and extravagant expenses is the ever-inventive Pitt, who sits in an obsequious position at the king's feet, eagerly inventing new taxes, including Bricks, Brandy, Water and Air.
