A vintage Asian-inspired bronze figural table lamp featuring a finely detailed scholar on horseback, mounted on an oval wooden base. The scholar, depicted wearing a traditional wide-brimmed hat and robes, holds a scroll in one hand while the horse stands in a grazing posture. The piece reflects elements of Chinese or Japanese artistic influence, evoking traditional depictions of scholars and literati. The lamp has an elegantly curved brass stem supporting the socket and includes a black lampshade. A 19th century Chinese figural vase, now a table lamp raised on a hardwood base. Height excluding light fitting 49 cm.The main body of the vase is in good order and we can see no signs of any chips, cracks or restoration. The green lid to the top is wooden and is fixed to the vase presumably by a bolt that runs from top to bottom and so is fixed quite securely. It is impossible to see the top of the vase without completely dismantling the entire lamp.
