A magnificent pair of large Chinese porcelain vases, exquisitely hand-painted with vibrant phoenix and peony motifs. These vases feature elaborate floral and bird decorations, symbolizing prosperity and beauty in traditional Chinese art. The bodies are adorned with gracefully depicted peacocks, phoenixes, and songbirds among blooming peonies, framed by intricate geometric borders. The vases also feature applied mythical creature handles along the necks. Separate round wooden bases included. The unglazed foot rim has no base marks. A Chinese blue and white porcelain bowl - of slightly flared, conical form, painted with three figures in a garden landscape, the interior with central four character mark within bands of flower heads and snail shell scrolls, 10.2cm diameter, 5.1cm high. * Condition: The bowl has no chips, cracks or hairlines. No restoration. There are a few tiny burst glaze bubbles to the rim edge (pinhead size) and one slightly larger burst glaze bubble. The edge of the foot has some tiny frits and flakes, but these appear to be from during manufacture and are not later damage. There are some small glaze scratches to the inside well and a few other tiny glaze scratches to the exterior. In good condition overall.

A Qing dynasty Chinese famille verte porcelain vase - late 18th / early 19th century, of stout baluster form, painted with peonies and chrysanthemum flowers in iron red and verte, issuing from blue enamelled rock work, the shoulder with a cracked ice band in blue, 29.25cm high. (lacks cover, several large cracks and a chip to rim)* Condition: The vase has several large cracks which are visible from both the exterior and interior of the vase - in places there is some old yellowed glue residue along the cracks, which was obviously used after the damage occurred to stabilise the cracks. There are also some flakes from the enamelled decoration along the cracks to the lower section of the vase. One of the cracks extends to the rim and there is a chip at the top of the crack. There is also a tiny chip missing at the bottom of another crack below this just above the base. The glaze has some age-related scratching to the surface to the widest section of the vase.
