A Fine Chinese Qin or Western Han Dynasty Burnished Pottery Cocoon Jar. The body decorated with twelve bands of vertically triple-incised bands and pronounced ridges surrounding the neck and base. The wide foot suggests this an early example of its type. Length of body 28.5cm, height 26.5cm. A fine and untouched example. A Chinese Ming Dynasty Pottery Sedan Chair and Four Attendants with Oxford TL Test. All pieces made from pale pinkish-brown pottery. The sedan chair (or palanquin) coated in green and amber glazes with a white cold-painted base. The roof of the chair is made separately and is cold-painted in black and orange pigments. The four attendant figures, each standing on a pedestal and with an arm raised to carry the pole that lifts the chair off the ground, cold-painted in black and white pigments. The height of the sedan chair 33cm, the heights of the figures 25-26cm.With Thermoluminescence Analysis Report from Oxford Authentication dating to 2003. Pair of Tall Chinese Ming Glazed Pottery Figures of Officials. Each figure dressed in long robes and standing on integral hexagonal pedestals, the heads made separately. Coated in thick green and amber glazes that have degraded a little in places and have a silvery iridescence. Traces of cold-painted pigment remain on the bodies as well as the detachable heads.
