Ltd., London 1911, the hinged cover inscribed to upper left 'Billie', opening to reveal cedar interior, 7½in. (19cm.) wide; together with an elegant rectangular box with canted edges and central monogram to hinged cover, Mappin & Webb, London 1921; the third of rounded rectangular form, engraved with initials 'J.E.G' to the front, gross weight 54 tr.oz. A RARE CIGAR AND CIGARETTE CASKET MADE FROM OAK AND COPPER SALVAGED FROM H.M.S. FOUDROYANT opening on four sides with repoussé plaques of Foudroyant underway and wrecked, Nelson and St Vincent, each corner with stylised figurehead of Neptune, the top surmounted by a British lion, with maker's plate for Goodall, Lamb & Heighway Ltd, Manchester to the front panel, overall measurements -- 15 x 22½ x 16in. (38 x 57 x 40.5cm.); together with provenance note with photograph and details of the wreck Provenance: According to the note enclosed, this casket was bought by Lord Northcliffe and sent to Cecil Rhodes in Cape Town. After Rhodes died in 1902, his executors returned it to Northcliffe, who then gave it to his friend 'John B.' who signed the note.Footnote: This casket is listed as item 22B in Goodall's 1898 catalogue with a list price of £35.

A Dunhill gold plated and black laque de chine gas lighter, boxed with guarantee card and booklets and a Dunhill bicolour cigar cutter with pouch, boxed, (2) Condition Report Lighter - Exterior in good condition, there is a build up of dirt/dust to the interior, would benefit from a good clean. Cigar cutter has light scratches otherwise in good condition. Both outer boxes are marked.
American Indian: A Beautifully Worked Huron Cigar Case, circa 1840, with moose hair embroidery in relief on a (less common) black ground, with quill edging. The intricate stitching features a large flower in varying shades of blue, surrounded by leaves and fruits. On the verso, lower panel, strawberries and their white flowers and distinctive leaves. The upper sections also have different panels, one with small white flowers and larger fruits enclosed in leaves of many forms, the other a spray of cream/yellow flowers with leaves of different greens. Top and bottom of the case also embroidered with meandering leaves. of birch bark. All edges bound. Approx. 5.75 inches or 14.5cm by 3.75 inches or 14.5cm.. Very good. Very slight wear to one edge of the binding on one top panel lower edge.

A PAINTED AND LACQUERED PAPIER MACHE PEN BOX (QALAMDAN), KASHMIR, 19TH CENTURY of cigar shaped form, with sliding compartment, the exterior painted with flowers and Persian inscriptions in nastaliq script, the interior with brass inkwell and spoon 21cm long The inscriptions on the sides have been translated: 'God willing you live in /this world with excellent destiny/good fortune, wealth and young hearth always' & 'Oh! Almighty who controls the destiny of this world/If there is no grief from your side/so also/We do not have sadness.' The end inscriptions translate: 'Amal ('work of') Safdar Mughal', and a date '10th March [?]70'.
