1991 Nissan Figaro AutoMake: Nissan Model: Figaro Year: 1991Mileage: 71108VIN: FK100013015Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: J140JGUTransmission: automatic Although the retro-styled Nissan Figaro was never officially sold in the UK, quite a few of the 20,073 built have subsequently found their way over here, offering the benefits of classic looks combined with modern, no nonsense Japanese mechanicals, as well as a turbocharger and full-length soft-top. Four colours were available, to represent the four seasons; Topaz Mist, Emerald Green, Pale Aqua and Lapis Grey. This one is in Lapis Grey and was manufactured - as with all other Figaros - in 1991. It was registered in the UK in September 2007 and has had one registered former keeper since then. The odometer shows 71,108km (44,180 miles) and the car is MoT'd until March 2023. 1971 Lotus Type 69 Formula ThreeMake: Lotus Model: Type 69Year: 1971Mileage: 0VIN: 71/69/12FBConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: manualThe history of this 1971 Lotus Type 69 Formula 3 racer has been researched by Duncan Rabagliati, a motoring historian and Historic Lotus Register registrar and Motorsport UK HTP inspector for Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) papers, who also has copies of the original Lotus 69 production records. The records show that Type 69 Formula 3 chassis number 71/69/12 FB was the last of the FB chassis. Although unsold in 1971, it was a full-build rolling chassis with fire extinguisher and seat belts. It was recorded as being taken back into stock, until March 1972, when Lotus Cars advertised it for sale in Motoring News. It was sold to Italian racing driver Claudio Francisci, who campaigned it, with F3 1600cc engine, in Formula 3 races throughout 1972, including the F3 support race to that year's Monaco GP. The paperwork folder includes supporting evidence from Claudio Francisci regarding his ownership of the car, a list of racing results from 1972 and more extensive write-ups on some of the races the Lotus participated in, along with some Italian paperwork. It seems to have returned to this country again in 2018. As the car is one that raced in period to the correct specification of a 1600cc F3 car between 1971 and 1973, it is eligible to enter the HSCC Classic F3 Championship and to obtain an HSCC VIF (Vehicle Identity Form). It's also eligible for a FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP). Novamotor Twin Cam Engine. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 22ND FEBUARY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
1992 Citroen XM 2.0 SEI Prestige AutoMake: CitroenModel: XM 2.0 SEI PrestigeYear: 1992Mileage: 95198VIN: VF7Y3AH0005AH0331Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: K686KGFTransmission: AutomaticThe vendor purchased this 1992 Citroen XM SEI Auto direct from the TV production production company, after it featured in a 2020 episode of Flipping Bangers (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-uWcgAk8ys). In the programme, it was claimed to be the best XM left in the UK, and although the vendor doesn't claim this himself, he feels it is very original and unmolested with no significant corrosion and has never been welded. During the show, it was fully recommissioned with new cambelt, water pump, front spheres, and wheel bearing. Since then, while the car has needed no major repairs, but the vendor has carried out minor maintenance and improved the car where necessary, including replacing the four remaining spheres/accumulators and changing the LHM, getting the original radio functioning again, treating the underbody pipes, clearing the drain pipes, flushing the breather system, replacing the roof aerial base and mast, renewing a steering rack gaiter and replacing the rocker cover gasket. The vendor feels that the car is in very good working order and ready to be used, and is only selling because he has too many other classic cars and does not have enough time to use it as it deserves.
1990 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTiMake: Peugeot Model: 205 GTiYear: 1990Mileage: 104000VIN: VF320CD6223664299Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G396ALFTransmission: manThe Peugeot 205 GTI is now regarded as among the best of the classic European hot hatches, a worthy successor to the crown of the original Volkswagen Golf GTI that came before it. This example, in Solid Black with black leather interior, was registered in February 1990 and is one of the larger-engined 1.9-litre variants. The vendor tells us that this one has been completely rebuilt, with engine done by CTM Engineering, and it is only because he's moving abroad that it is being sold. Upgrades includes a polished and ported head and inlet manifold, stainless steel exhaust, four into one manifold, Spax Krypton shock absorbers and Polybushing throughout, with the 'underside looking like new' in the words of the vendor. A complete list of what has been done is in the paperwork file. The car has had four previous registered keepers from new and is showing 104,408 miles on its odometer. It has a fresh MoT until March 2023. The paperwork folder includes the V5C, the original book pack with owner's handbook, owner's guide, dealer location guide, Pioneer stereo instructions and unstamped service book and a Haynes service manual. The MoT certificates date from 2020 and 2022, although there's also an print-out of the online MoT details. There's also a 2021 issue of Classic Cars magazine with a Peugeot 205 GTI restoration inside. The large stack of invoices date from 2020 to 2022 and testify to all the recent restoration work done, and the money spent on transforming this 205 GTI into such a great example.
1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8 Make: Austin-Healey Model: 3000 MKIII BJ8 Year: 1965Mileage: 0VIN: HBJ8L29494Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: ABH159CTransmission: manualThe vendor has owned this Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII (BJ8) since 1990 and has travelled extensively with it all over the UK and Europe, visiting places such as Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Saltzburg, Milan, Zurich, Paris, Munich, Venice, Valencia and Ireland, and participating in 10 Euroclassic rallies. He reports the 'Big Healey' has been very reliable in that time. The car was first registered in the USA and restored there in 1989 before coming to the UK in 1990. The vendor tells us that a lot of work has been done since then, including a new mohair hood and tonneau and gearbox and overdrive rebuild. The engine has been rebuilt twice, most recently in May 2011. The vendor notes that the car has been well-used and enjoyed, but has also been kept in a garage with a dehumidifier running during his ownership, while its servicing and maintenance has been looked after by Norfolk Classic and Sportscars in Fakenham over the last eight years. The paperwork folder includes the V5C plus a large stack of well-organised invoices in two ring binders. These date from 1991 through to 2021 and testify to thousands spent over three decades and a great deal of care and attention lavished on the Austin-Healey. There's also the purchase bill from when the vendor bought the car in 1990. The MoT certificates date from 2017 back to 1990, with the recorded mileage at the 1990 test being 82,866 miles. The odometer now shows 3983 miles. The car also comes with a spare set of keys.
1932 Standard Nine R9Make: Standard Model: Nine R9 Year: 1932Mileage: 77010VIN: 225298SPConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: HAS895Transmission: manualThis 1934 Standard Nine R9 was sold by ACA in 2021, having come direct from the film company. It had been used for the production of Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, a TV adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel due to be screened in 2022 starring Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent and Emma Thompson (among others). During filming, the car sustained some planned damage. Since purchase from ourselves, the car has been professionally repaired by a classic car body shop and is now offered for sale again, looking much smarter than it did last year. Because the accident was staged for a TV production, the Standard 9 is not recorded as a total loss and has clear title although the V5 incorrectly states the year of first registration as 1932. The history folder includes the current and some previous V5Cs, a selection of bills including one for five new tyres in July 2019, assorted MoTs, various club magazines and other sundry paperwork. 1975 Scimitar GTE SE5. Registration number GWV 179N (see text). Chassis number unknown. Engine number unknown. The Reliant Scimitar GTE is a very versatile classic that offers distinctive shooting-brake style. They are generally very solid with their fibreglass body and Ford-sourced powertrains that help them to stand the test of time. This 1974 GTE was purchased as a spares car and is no longer required. Sold with no paperwork although recorded with DVLA it has been off the road since 1980. Please note the front suspension has been detached, the chassis has rotted and the trailer it is on is not included in the auction. It would make an ideal donor car for the other GTE in the auction which is lacking an engine.
1959 Jaguar Mk.IX 3.8 SaloonReg. no. 509 XUCChassis no. 772414 BWEngine no. NC 5314-8Body no. N 005232Jaguar’s new large luxury saloon, the Mark IX, was introduced in October 1958. Externally similar to the Mark VIII that preceded it, the new model had in fact been improved in various important ways, with a larger engine, now of 3.8 litres, plus disc brakes on all four wheels and recirculating ball steering that was now power assisted – a major aid in such a large car. These latter two features were a first for any production Jaguar. With its lavish appointments as befitted a top-of-the-range Jaguar saloon, the Mark IX was not a light car, coming in at a hefty 4,000 pounds. However, the 220bhp provided by the new 3.8 litre straight six meant that performance was more than respectable, with the Borg-Warner automatic equipped cars making the dash to 60 in around 11 seconds and continuing to almost 115mph. This 3-speed automatic gearbox was the most popular choice among Mark IX buyers, although the standard gearbox was actually a 4-speed manual. The car’s surprising turn of pace was also complimented by excellent handling, with Mark IX drivers often claiming that the cars feel much smaller and nimbler on the road than one would expect. Perhaps it’s no surprise, then, that these cars can still be seen in historic touring car races putting some much more sporting cars to shame. 10,009 Mark IXs were made over three years until 1961, with the model having proved particularly popular as an official state car for many nations. This 1959 automatic Mark IX is in superb original condition, having spent most of its life in the kind, salt-free conditions of Australia. Imported around 20 years ago, it is fully UK registered and has only covered around 300 miles since then. With no welding ever having been carried out, this must be one of the most original surviving Mark IXs. In the file is a Jaguar Heritage certificate that confirms that this is a matching-numbers vehicle in its original factory colours. Being an Australian market car, it is also fitted with air conditioning for hot summer days. In 2016, the car was brought out of long-term storage and recommissioned at a cost of over £3,600, work including a suspension rebuild and a rebuilt steering box. In 2020, the engine was fully rebuilt, although due to the pandemic it has not been used since. The automatic gearbox is said to work as it should, and once the engine has been carefully run-in this exceptionally original Mark IX should prove an excellent luxury classic. It comes with various bills, original manuals, the heritage certificate, and three box files of other history, plus a current V5C.
1933 Austin 10/4 SaloonReg. no. ALU 215Chassis no. 623461Engine no. IG47772Launched in April 1932, the Austin 10/4 slotted neatly into the Austin range of motor cars, sitting between the small Seven and the larger Light and Heavy 12s. Offering more space for the occupants than the Seven, and more economical than the 12s, the 10/4 would go on to be the company’s best-selling model of the decade. Indeed, the 10hp segment of the market as a whole proved to be vital for all volume manufacturers in the 1930s, with the likes of Morris and Ford both having strong offerings in the class. The Austin, however, has perhaps proved the most lasting; with its classic Austin characteristics of dependability and high-quality construction, 10s have a good survival rate and excellent club support. The 1125cc engine, driving through a four-speed gearbox, is sufficient to propel the car at a good country-road cruising speed, and many 10s are still in regular use with enthusiastic owners. This 1933 10 is in truly excellent all-round condition, having been treated to a nut-and-bolt restoration in 2007. The restoration was carried out extremely thoroughly and to original specification. Fortunately, the original interior leather was in salvageable condition and, reconditioned, still graces the inside of this car; the result is that splendid look and feel that new interiors can never quite replicate. The carpets and headlining are exact copies of the originals, and the exterior is finished in the original colour. The car has the ‘Pytchley’ sliding roof, and a correct rear luggage rack with bespoke wicker basket. The car had a new wiring loom and all the electrics and instruments are said to work, while the car is also reported to drive faultlessly. Surely one of the best 10/4s on the road, this car comes with several service manuals and handbooks, plus some history, the old logbook and a current V5C.
1983 Datsun Laurel SaloonReg. no. A460 VWNChassis no. JN10MJC31U0016761Engine no. L24-550706The fourth-generation ‘C31’ Datsun Laurel debuted in 1980, bringing a cleaner look for the company’s luxury saloon. A wide range of engines were available, with the straight-six petrols and diesels proving most popular in European markets. However, despite their generous equipment levels and excellent reliability, large luxury Japanese cars were still not sold in large numbers in the UK, with the vast majority of Japanese cars sold here being smaller economy models. The Laurel therefore is something of a rarity on our roads today. This 1983 Laurel is powered by the 2.4-litre straight six petrol engine, driving through a manual gearbox. With ample power and a smooth nature, this engine – an export-only fitment – perfectly suits the nature of these cars. This Laurel was inherited by the vendor from a late uncle in April 2019 and recommissioned for use following a period of storage; including a new clutch at a cost of around £665. MOT’d every year in the vendor’s ownership, it has only covered around 600 miles in the last three years, as evidenced by the accompanying MOT certificates. In generally good condition, it does have some minor blemishes and repairs, commensurate with the age of the car. This rare Japanese classic comes with a current V5C and the aforementioned MOT certificates.
2003 Jaguar XK8 Convertible AutoReg. no. FA03 DKKChassis no. SAJAC42P532A33554Engine no. 2B0209092349The X100 Jaguar XK grand tourer was launched at the Geneva motorshow in 1996, as Jaguar finally replaced the veteran XJS. The new car was right up-to-date in terms of styling, and under the bonnet the long-serving straight-six was gone, replaced with a brand new 4-litre V8. In 2002, this engine was enlarged to 4.2 litres, with 300bhp now on tap. On the inside, the cars were full of classic Jaguar luxury, bathing the occupants in a sea of leather and walnut trim. Convertible and coupe versions were available, all driving through a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This 2003 XK8 has been owned by the vendor since 2010 and used as his main car until recently. It is in generally fair condition for the year and comes with plenty of invoices for work carried out, including for corrosion repairs to the wheel arches in 2018 and the front subframe in 2019. The engine is good – the car is currently displaying a sensor fault on the dashboard, but it runs well. The vendor reports that a couple of dashboard lights are not working, and nor is the cruise control, but it could be argued that the odd electrical puzzle to sort out is part of classic Jaguar ownership! The car comes with an MOT until December, plus various bills and a current V5C.
1956 Chevrolet Bel AirReg. no. No documentsChassis no. UnknownEngine no. UnknownThe Bel Air term originally only described Chevrolet’s two door hardtops but in 1953 it designated a premium level of trim applied across a number of body styles. The Chevrolet Bel Air has been considered by many to be an icon of the 1950s. This second-generation Bel Air came with features found on cars in the lower models ranges plus interior carpet, chrome headliner bands on hardtops, chrome spears on front fenders, full wheel covers and a Ferrari-inspired front grille. For 1955 Chevrolets gained a V8 engine option. Little is known about this 1956 example, except that it has had considerable money spent on restoration over the years. Its late owner had carried out much of the expensive work over several years, including a respray. Nothing is known about the condition of the V8 engine, but this car deserves to be finished and will be a fabulous looking classic when completed. There sadly aren’t any documents with the car.
