Lot 212

Registration No: WWU 641J Frame No: CB500-1003494 Engine No: CB500E-1003807 CC: 500 MOT: ExemptEarly CB500 K0 model restored at great expenseFitted with a genuine Honda HM323 exhaust systemSupplied with numerous receipts and current V5CThis Honda was purchased in 2019 by a retired Engineer with over 50 years of experience who has a passion for mechanical engineering and vehicle restoration. This is the latest project from a line of restorations that include several British and Japanese motorcycles and cars. This original K0 variant had been imported from South Dakota in the USA and required a full restoration. The mileometer had just over 12,000 miles displayed which is believed to be accurate based on the fact that there was very little wear to the engine. The bike was fully stripped down and all parts were examined, restored or replaced. There is a huge library of receipts amounting to thousands of pounds from reputable retailers and Honda specialists. The renovation has been completed to the original US specification, such as retaining the slightly higher (and very comfortable) handlebars so that it remains true to its original specification (the K0 was not originally imported to the UK). After measuring the bores it was confirmed that the engine had not been bored out previously and the bores were in perfect condition. The top end was rebuilt using high quality parts including new pistons and rings and the bottom end was inspected and found to be in good order. The carburettors were stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt using new jets and needles. The frame and its components were sent away for powder coating, the head stock bearings were replaced and forks refurbished including new seals and stanchions. The electrical system was fully overhauled and the switchgear renovated. A new battery was fitted and an Optimate lead installed to maintain the battery through the winter if the bike isn't being used. The chain and sprockets were replaced with good quality D.I.D components. All the chrome work was re-chromed at Howells of Walsall which is a business held in high regard within the classic vehicle restoration world. The wheels were refurbished with new rims and spokes and new tyres and tubes in the original sizes. The wheel bearings were replaced and brakes fully overhauled with the rear brake drum skimmed due to slight ovality. Most importantly, the vendor managed to acquire a full set of new old stock Honda HM323 exhausts at great expense which were still in the original boxes plus a new old stock petrol tank and side panels from a friend who had them in storage for a number of years. A local bodywork specialist who works for a number of British Superbike teams painted the tank and side panels in the original colour which looks beautiful especially when the sun is shining. The bike runs beautifully and has completed roughly 200 miles since restoration and is now ready to be enjoyed throughout the Summer. The vendor is planning to ride the bike to the auction venue and it comes supplied with numerous receipts and a current V5C. Registration - TGC 397L Chassis No. - 3440961 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 26,306 According to howmanyleft.co.uk there are just 15 examples of BMW’s 2002 Touring registered in the UK today, making ‘TGC 397L’ a rather rare motor car. This RHD model rolled off the Munich production line in 1972 and was imported into the UK in 1983. Presented in original and eye-catching Golf yellow paintwork, this three-door hatchback has received certain modifications to give it a sportier look, performance and feel. The 2-litre engine has been fitted with new Weber Twin 40 carburettors, and the car has been lowered 50mm with Alpina-style wheels and equipped with an Alpina-style front spoiler. The vendor describes the engine, four-speed manual transmission, electrics, paintwork and highly original black vinyl interior as ‘good’. With the huge membership and event calendar of BMW Car Club GB, the new owner of ‘TGC 397L’ will have unending opportunities to show it off amongst like-minded enthusiasts. BMW produced its 02 series of two-door compact, sporty cars from 1966 to 1975. The 02 series evolved from the Neue Klasse (New Class) four-door executive saloons, the BMW 1500, 2000 C and 2000CS, which had returned the company to solvency after it found itself in dire financial straits in the 1950s. 25cm shorter, and faster, lighter and more affordable than its big ‘sisters’, the first 02 Series model, the 1.6-litre 1600-2 (later known as the 1602), found a ready audience, not least because it also handled better than its more luxurious and larger siblings. In 1968 BMW brought out the 2-litre 2002, and with it a new era began for the company, as its reputation for a producer of affordable but high-quality performance cars was established. The 02 Series was produced in saloon, convertible, targa and hatchback (Touring) models and all found an enthusiastic audience – and had an appeal which lasts to this day. The 2002 in its various guises was produced from 1968 to 1974 and, in 1975, the 02 series was replaced with 3 Series, apart from the 1502, which continued in production until 1977. But by 1975 the 02 Series had already done its job, rescuing BMW from the prospect of financial disaster and reputational obscurity, and putting it firmly on the map and well on the way to being viewed as ‘The Ultimate Driving Machine’. In summary: · One of just 15 2002 Touring models believed to be registered in the UK today (source: howmanyleft.co.uk) · An unusual, practical and highly collectable classic · Upgraded with Weber Twin 40 carburettors, Alpina-style wheels and an Alpina-style front spoiler

Saab’s new generation 900 was the second generation model to wear the badge, introduced in 1994 with a pick of three body styles – three-door coupe, five-door hatchback, and two-door convertible. Based on a General Motors platform, Saab took the architecture and sprinkled some Scandinavian magic on it, significantly improving the ride, handling, and refinement compared to Vauxhall/Opel models of the time. The NG 900 also saw features introduced such as the ‘Black Panel’ which turned all of the other instruments off other than the speedometer, for a darker cabin while driving at night, inspired by Saab’s jet-fighter background. With only a relatively short product run, the 900 was produced until 1998, when it was replaced by the 9-3. · Superb example of a well loved and appreciating modern classic · Sought-after well-equipped Talladega edition · Stylish and practical coupe

Registration - COY 441H Chassis No. - 42508488E M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 04365 The Rover P6 has a dedicated following and highly active Owner’s Club – and this 1969 eight-keeper example is just waiting for a new owner to take it in hand and lavish some TLC on it so that it can take pride of place in club gatherings. Sitting on original stainless steel wheels, as one would expect with a Series I model, and painted in white, with a black vinyl sunroof, ‘COY 441H’ has the stately lines so beloved by P6 afficionados. Inside, the once luxury interior is showing its age, and a new keeper will likely look to reupholster the front seats, replace carpets and generally do some fettling, while the vinyl roof would benefit from a refurbishment or perhaps replacement. The vendor describes the 161 bhp, 3.5-litre V8 engine, three-speed automatic transmission and electrics as ‘good’ and the bodywork, paintwork and interior as ‘average’. At its launch in 1963 the Rover 2000 (or P6 - the project codename for the sixth post-War Rover) caused a sensation, and was acclaimed as a luxury saloon which combined elegance with performance, safety and technological advancement. It was way ahead of its time, with innovations such as an independent suspension designed for (then-new) radial ply tyres, power assisted brakes to all four wheels, and bodywork crumple zones. An Autocar road test in 1963 declared the Rover 2000 to be ‘one of the outstanding cars of the decade’. The car was the very worthy recipient of the first-ever European Car of the Year award (1964) and, three years later, won the first AA Gold Rosette for Safety. In April 1968 Rover introduced the 3500, modifying Buick’s aluminium 3.5-litre V8 engine – a power unit which was already in use in Rover’s P5B and which became known as the Rover V8 engine. The more powerful new model was faster than most comparable vehicles offered in the UK market at the time, with a Motor road test achieving 115mph and 0-60mph in 9.5 seconds. Some 322,302 P6 Rovers of varying engine capacity were produced before the range was superseded by the SD1 in 1977. In summary: · A very original example of Rover’s luxury flagship · In need of a degree of cosmetic attention to the trim and vinyl roof · Will provide a new owner with a capable family classic

Registration - 2000UE Chassis No. - 11BT711208 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 20,917 The timeless shape of this Austin Healey 3000 MkI is brilliantly presented in Colorado Red-over-black paintwork, accentuating the classic roadster curves. Rolling off the Abingdon production line in 1960, this MkI is an early example of the ‘Big’ Healey, and one made for the home market – at one point, nine in every ten made were exported. This 2+2 convertible has remarkably only had three former keepers from new, and comes with a wealth of information throughout its time on the road. Featuring a 2.9-litre straight six engine and short-throw four-speed manual gearbox, ‘2000 UE’ is described by the vendor as in great condition throughout. Engine and electrics are rated as excellent, and transmission, bodywork, paint, and the interior as good. That cabin sees part-leather trim installed, and classically sporty white dials set into the black dashboard, with two ‘seats’ in the rear that could fit children. Presented with only 20,917 miles, this 3000 MkI comes with heritage certificate and original buff log-book with MOTs dating back to 1971. Following its launch, the ‘Big’ Healey enjoyed steady development, with the early four-cylinder cars giving way to the 100-Six in 1956, and the first of the 3000s in 1959. By now engine capacity had risen to 2,912cc and power output to 124bhp. By the time of the MKII’s appearance in 1961, 2,825 (two-seat) BN7s and 10,825 (four-seat) BT7s had been produced. In summary: · An apparently pleasingly original early home market BT7 · Comes complete with buff log book and Heritage Certificate · The recipient of lots of recent maintenance

Registration - UYB 461G Chassis No. - MA2S5D1238828M M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 101,944 One of the best loved classics in the country, the Morris Minor is familiar to all, and this 1969 a professionally created convertible retains all the character that has made the model such a favourite amongst drivers of all ages. Few will come to auction with such a comprehensive service history as ‘UYB 461G’, including a file filled with receipts, invoices, and records of work carried out over the years. The pale blue bodywork is described as excellent by the current owner, as is the 998cc four-cylinder engine and manual transmission. That engine has seen 101,944 miles at the latest reading, and will be sold with a recent service as well as 12-month MOT – despite the model now being MOT exempt. The folding roof is in perfect working order, and the vendor is including an original spare wheel and oil can with the sale. The Morris Minor is almost as universal a symbol of England as the London bus and the red telephone box and, with over 1.3 million manufactured in its 23-year reign, is one of the most successful cars of all time. Designed by Alec Issigonis (who later penned the ubiquitous Mini), the Minor was unveiled at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show and 13 years later became the first British car to achieve a million sales. The term ‘panda car’ originally related to black police cars to which white panels had been added to increase their visibility, but became the nickname for the Morris Minors, Ford Anglias, Hillman Imps etc that, in many areas, replaced the traditional ‘bobby on the beat’. · Excellent example of a much-loved classic · Well maintained and comprehensively recorded service history · Original spare wheel and oil can included

Registration – TSY 218 Chassis No. – BN61371 M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 17,563 This highly attractive, quintessential British convertible is very well presented in metallic blue over white paint, with smart dark blue interior with white piping. In its present enthusiast ownership for nearly two decades, ‘TSY 218’s short list of former keepers include Commodore Cooke-Priest CBE, one-time Commander of the world’s most advanced aircraft carrier, the HMS Queen Elizabeth. This desirable example from the final year of 100-6 production is offered complete with what the vendor describes as a ‘huge’ history file – in fact, four Lever Archer folders - of documents and photographs of the extensive, older restoration, which included an upgrade to a Healey 3000 engine. More recently, ‘TSY 218’ has received new wire wheels and tyres, a brake overhaul, new distributor and alternator, coil and spark plugs, plus new hood, frame and tonneau cover. The vendor describes all aspects of the car as ‘good’. The car has been regularly maintained and MOT’d and carries a current MOT to 2 November 2024, with no advisories. MOT records show it has covered just over 11,000 miles in the past 19 years. It is now waiting for a new owner to add to those miles and enjoy years of wind-in-the-hair motoring. Donald Healey’s eponymous company built a prototype two-seater sports car for display at the 1952 London Motor Show. It was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and sported a sleek body designed by Gerry Coker and built by Tickford. Healey planned to build production versions at his factory in Warwick, but as things transpired, the prototype so impressed both the public and Austin’s Managing Director Leonard Lord, that he agreed to build the car in volume at Longbridge. The newcomer was renamed the Austin-Healey 100. The production bodyshells were made by Jensen and then transported to Longbridge where the cars were assembled alongside the A90. The last of the 100 models, the BN4 (2+2 seater) and BN6 (2-seater, as per the sale car) had a two-inch longer wheelbase and were powered by the six-cylinder 2,639cc BMC C Series engine originally found in the Austin Westminster. Early versions gave 102bhp, but by 1957 output of the 100-6 had risen to 117bhp. In summary: · A very well-presented late example of Donald Healey’s classic british sportscar · An older restoration with an upgraded 3-litre engine · Extensive history and restoration records, and recent new hood, frame and cover and new wheels and tyres

Registration - BX09 VAE Chassis No. - SA9WS1W119X039071 M.O.T. - July 2024 Odometer - TBC A well-respected builder of sports and kit cars, Westfield’s main model was the Sport, based on Lotus’s classic Seven. This example is presented in British Racing Green, with body-coloured interior highlights and black leather upholstery. Fitted with a powerful Ford Zetec S Sigma four-cylinder 1.6-litre engine with fuel injection and short-throw five-speed manual gearbox, ‘BX09 VAE’ comes with canvas roof, frame, and doors for full wet-weather driving capabilities, stored behind the two-seat cabin and ahead of the full spare wheel. Fitted with Team Dynamics Motorsport alloy wheels to keep weight down, this example of an ultra-lightweight sportscar comes with the original build invoice showing the exact specification. With one owner from new, this Westfield is rated by the vendor as being in impeccable order throughout. Westfield Sportscars was founded in 1982, initially offering models inspired by the Lotus Seven. Since Caterham Cars bought the rights from Lotus owner Colin Chapman, there were various threats of legal action towards Westfield, before the design was changed enough that, though visually similar, the construction was different. Provided either as kits or factory-produced models, what became known as the Westfield Sport was a mainstay of the company’s offering throughout its history, though with various spin-offs, such as the ‘Mega’ series – Megabusa, Megablade, and MegaS2000 – which used powerful and high-revving engines from the motorbike industry (Suzuki Hayabusa and Honda Fireblade) or Honda’s 2.0-litre VTEC unit from the S2000 sports car. Other models such as the track-focused XTR2 and classic-inspired racers like the XI were also produced, before the company went into administration in June 2022. In summary: · Pristine example of a classically-styled, but thoroughly modern sportscar · Fitted with a powerful Ford Sigma unit · One owner from new

Registration - R306 KGN Chassis No. - JF1GC8KD3WG029633 M.O.T. - November 2024 Odometer - 125,000 Presented in what is surely the ‘only’ colour for a rally-inspired Subaru Impreza – Mica Blue with gold alloys – this special edition Terzo model is number 141 of the limited 333 run. Created to celebrate Subaru’s third consecutive World Rally Championship title (Terzo is Italian for third) ‘R306 KGN’ is a five-door saloon, fitted with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine found in all rally-bred Imprezas. Connected to a five-speed manual gearbox, it was one of the most sought-after models of the late-1990s, and this Impreza Turbo Terzo is described as being a ‘time warp’ by the vendor, who reckons all areas of the Subaru, including bodywork, interior, and powertrain, can be rated as ‘good’. Offered with 125,000 miles on the clock, this practical family four-wheel drive saloon – fitted with front fog lights, a boot spoiler, air-conditioning, and grey/black Alcantara & suede interior trim – is a rare opportunity to own a special edition Subaru Impreza; one that is surely an appreciating modern classic. Introduced in 1992, the Subaru Impreza was a simple, practical, family car – offered as a four-door saloon, two-door coupe, five-door estate, and later on a five-door hatchback – with little about it to get the blood pumping and customers banging at the door of dealerships… until Subaru took it rallying. Entering the WRC with the Impreza changed Subaru’s desirability instantly, and multiple successes over many years say the blue and gold rally machines sprinkle plenty of stardust over the rest of the range – particularly since Subaru’s rally cars managed to attract some of the finest rally drivers around. With a plethora of various WRX and STi models released over five separate generations, there are almost too many to list here. Each brought about a flair and ‘real-world’ performance that made the likes of Subaru, and key rival Mitsubishi’s equivalents, highly desirable machines. In summary: · ‘Time Warp’ example of Subaru’s legendary Impreza · One of only 333 ‘Terzo’ special editions · Presented in Subaru’s racing blue with famous gold alloys

Registration - 343 XUS Chassis No. - H9YH142727 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 20,015 If you’re a lover of 1950s Americana and have a hankering for a head-turning motor car with a throbbing V8, this second-generation Ford Thunderbird could be just what you’re looking for. All fins and chrome, this flame red 1959 ‘Squarebird’ is powered by a mighty 300hp, 352 cubic inch, 5800cc V8 engine that makes all the right noises. Inside, the inimitable 50’s American feel continues, with the cream and black trim, yet more chrome, electric windows and that handsome, steering wheel-mounted optional Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Even the boot (or should we say ‘trunk’?) gets in on the act, with a distinctive grey and cream chequered lining. ‘343 XUS’ left the USA for the UK in 2009 and this left-hand-drive machine has had just three owners since it arrived on these shores. The current owner describes the engine, transmission, electrics and paintwork as ‘good’. The chrome would benefit from some TLC, as would the interior trim but, offered at No Reserve, this capacious four-seater is a great deal of car for the money. And it will certainly turn heads. The first-generation Ford Thunderbird, produced from 1955-57, was a hugely popular two-seater. When they launched the second-generation model in 1958, Ford added two additional seats and added luxury elements more usually found in much more expensive cars. One advertising slogan was ‘New Ford Thunderbird seats four - now it’s twice the fun to own one!” What became known as the ‘Squarebird’ has been acclaimed as a sculptural masterpiece of Fifties Detroit design, and it’s easy to see why the second generation sold more than four times as many examples as its predecessor. In summary: An eye-catching example of Ford’s renowned ‘Squarebird’ A fantastic, four-seater companion for classic American car events Offered at No Reserve
