A fine Victorian silver gilt mounted 'rock crystal' cut glass claret jug Charles Edwards, London, 1883, of of octagonal lobbed form, cut with panels of floral and foliate design, the silver gilt mounts heavily chased and pierced, vacant oval cartouche to each side, bearded mask spout, domed cover with urn finial, angular handle terminating in mythical mask, petal shaped star cut base, 12in. (30.5cm.) high, later fitted wooden case.Providence: Box bearing, Auction tag 'Woolley Wallis, 30th October 2002, lot 833'.* Condition: Very good condition, very little rubbing, no chips or cracks, clear hallmarks.
A matched part suite of gilt decorated cut glass drinking glasses, probably by St Louis Crystal comprising a water jug, five 21.75cm. champagne flutes with double knopped stems, a pair of 11.5cm. brandy balloons and four 18cm. port glasses with frosted knops to the hexagonal stems, all with petal cut decoration, broad carved gilt bands and gilt lined bases. (12)* Condition: All in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. A few minor gilt rubs.
