An oak Black Forest cuckoo clock: the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement with wooden plates, striking the hours on a gong with an outside countwheel with the cuckoo sounding each hour, the dial having applied bone Roman numerals and decorative hands, the Gothic case with applied carved decoration and pierced decoration to the front and sides, with the curved top having castellated features above, with turned columns to the case front and standing on bracket feet, height 55cm.
An oak Black Forest cuckoo clock: the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement striking the hours on a gong with an outside countwheel, with the cuckoo sounding each hour, the dial having applied bone Roman numerals and decorative hands, the oak case with a pediment top below which appears the cuckoo with moveable beak and wings, with applied oak mouldings in the form of leaf and grape foliage to the front with wooden planks below, with fretwork to the case sides, height 36.5cm.
A large mid 19th century Black Forest cuckoo clock by Camerer, Kuss, Tritschler and Co, clock makers to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, with an honourable mention at the International Exhibition of 1862, H. 59cm. Prov: understood to have been exhibited at the 1862 International Exhibition subsequently presented to one of Queen Victoria's daughters and then by her to one of her footmen and passed within the family until present vendor.
