Wear to the paint around the rim, crazed throughout.
A Della Robbia circular shallow bowl decorated with stylised leaves in shades of yellow, pale turquoise and green, incised marks to the reverse and artist painted initials A.S., diameter 19.75cm. CONDITION REPORT There is a 1cm x 5mm chip to the back of the rim otherwise just minor surface wear.

A large Della Robbia charger by Gwendoline Buckler, copied from a design by Aphra J Peirce, the well incised with the Madonna and child, the rim with angel roundels inside scrolling foliate wreath, in shades of green, yellow and brown on a terracotta ground incised marks, painted GEMB mark, minor professional restoration to rim, 48cm. diam. Catalogue Notes Gwendoline Buckler was the eldest daughter of John Findlay Buckler, an Anglican clergyman (educated at Marlborough School). He moved from Somerset to Wallasey in the 1870s and by 1891 was rector at Bidston close to the Della Robbia factory in Birkenhead.

CONDITION REPORT Some paint loss and fritting to the rim, there is 1x 1.5cm chip to the back of the rim, otherwise there is some light crazing commensurate with age.
