A George III Lancashire Oak Chest, late 18th century, the formerly hinged top crossbanded in mahogany, the three drawers now active, over an arrangement of five further drawers with original brass butterfly hinges and escutcheons, on ogee bracket feet 150cm by 54.5cm by 89cmThe top is now fixed so it does not open, however, all drawers are open and run freely. Formerly one of the drawers was false. The top section has some fading and numerous ring marks and water marks. There is a natural gap/splitting in the board (as photographed). Otherwise, generally good, however, the moulding to both rear legs is detached - we have these two pieces but they seem later in date. Some further splitting to the front legs (as photographed).
A George II Burr Walnut Crossbanded and Featherbanded Cabinet on Chest, 2nd quarter 18th century, the bold cavetto cornice above two cupboard doors enclosing two later sliding trays, the base with two short over two long drawers, on bracket feet 110cm by 50cm by 179cmStructurally OK, however there are numerous splits throughout, including to the cupboard doors. The side panels have a section of veneer also missing in places, particularly around the base. The drawers have formelrly been fitted with mirrors? Later sliding trays - only 2 trays present. A Late George III Mahogany Linen Press, early 19th century, the moulded and dentil cornice above a fluted frieze and carved flower patera, the cupboard doors below enclosing a later brass hanging rail, the base with two short over two long pine-lined drawers, on splayed bracket feet133cm by 59cm by 201cmThe doors are straight, however, there are defects to the polish, especially to the left-hand side which is particularly bruised and scratched (see images). Victor took over his father's business in 1878 and specialised in marquetry and lacquer furniture in the 18th century style.
