The wear is noticeable as a minor softening to the engraving.

Fully marked underneath. The hinged cover and handle each further part marked with conforming marks. The base and handle each further stamped '518'. The finial apparently unmarked but appears to be original to the pot. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving. The ivory insulators are stained and with some cracking but do not show signs of having been altered or replaced. There is no indication of an erasure.
