A rare John Walsh Walsh lily flower holder, late 19th century, the white top in the form of a calla lily bloom, raised on a twisted, reeded vaseline glass stem and moulded foot, moulded Rd. No. 271422 to base, height 27cm (chip to foot), together with an unusual cranberry glass jug with applied vaseline glass stylized shell motifs and squiggles, height 19.5cm, and a group of other similar late 19th/early 20th century glass, including a Jack-in-the-Pulpit cranberry tinted vase, height 23cm, a Fenton type spot decorated cranberry and opalescent vase, height 16.5cm, and uranium glass trumpet vases (minor faults). Brandt, Christian Friedrich -- German-Danish War. 1864. Salted paper print. 17,5 x 21 cm. Mounted to original board (slightly soiled), with photographer's embossed stamp below the image on the mount.This rare and well-preserved photograph captures a group of Prussian officers and soldiers, posing for a souvenir photo amid the destroyed trenches surrounding the village of Düppel. Similar to Roger Fenton and Matthew Brady, the photographer C.F. Brandt faced the challenge of capturing war images only after the fighting had ceased, as exposure times were still lengthy. An experienced photographer, Brandt participated in the International Photography Exhibition in Berlin in 1865, where he was awarded a medal for his exceptional landscapes. – Minimal fading in lower and side edges, light spot in upper right corner, otherwise a strong print in very good condition.Provenance: Robert Lebeck Collection

FENTON LONDON' and cut alongside with a dove-tail rail, dove-tailed fore-sight also cut alongside with a rail, original dove-tail for rear-sight blanked off and filled in antiquity, re-coloured breech-block with inlaid platinum line and renewed poincon signed 'FENTON LONDON', border and trophy engraved top-tang, the top of wrist with carved mount base for an adjustable peep-sight (included), border and trophy engraved lock with bolted safe behind the cock, rainproof pan with drains and re-faced roller frizzen, figured walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist and with raised cheek-piece, disguised push-button in the faceted heel-plate spur to open the patchbox, the latter engraved with a border and 'JUDGE NOT' surmounting a rampant gryphon above a wreath and the initials 'J.G.', engraved square-backed trigger guard bow with raised spur to lower tang, single set trigger, white metal barrel-key escutcheons and fore-end tip, turned ramrod thimbles and bayonet lug below the barrel for a sporting bayonet (absent), with its original brass mounted ramrod.
