Original vintage advertising poster for Boris Godunov a 1954 Soviet drama film. The poster features green and black stylised image of ghost of Tsarevich Dmitry (1582-1591) overlooking himself dressed in long purple caftan and jewelled fur hat with sword on his belt being murdered by a woman in a pink headscarf and other terrified woman in traditional Russian Court Gown. The film is based on the 1874 opera by Modest Mussorgsky (1839–1881) and the 1825 play by Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837), which tells the epic story of Tsar Boris Godunov, who reigned over Russia between 1598-1605. Boris Godunov inherited the throne of Ivan the Terrible after the death of his eldest son Fedor and Tsarevich Dmitry. The people blamed Boris for the death of the latter. It was screened out of competition at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival. Fair condition, paper losses in margins, folds, creasing, staining, tears. The film is based on the 1961 James Bond novel Thunderball, which had been previously adapted in a 1965 film under that name. Unlike the majority of Bond films, Never Say Never Again was not produced by Eon Productions but by Jack Schwartzman's Taliafilm in association with Kevin McClory, one of the original writers of the Thunderball storyline with Ian Fleming and Jack Whittingham. McClory retained the filming rights of the novel following a long legal battle dating from the 1960s.
