STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Imperial Stormtrooper E-11 Blaster Rifle - An Imperial Stormtrooper E-11 blaster rifle from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Stormtroopers carried their standard-issue E-11 imperial blaster rifles throughout the film, including during the Death Star docking bay sequence and the battle of Endor.While the first two Star Wars films used stormtrooper blasters made from blank-firing Sterling rifles, slightly redesigned E-11 blasters were specifically fabricated for Return of the Jedi out of non-firing Sterling L2A2 replicas made by Model Gun Corporation (MGC) of Japan. No blank-firing stormtrooper blasters were used for Return of the Jedi.Finished in black paint, this heavyweight blaster features a metal Sterling body with movable trigger affixed with original custom aluminum, steel, and plastic dressing components, which includes the signature U-shaped cooling fins, a scope, a scope rail, and side body greeblies. The magazine was cut down and riveted in place, and the MGC logo is emblazoned on the grip.This is one of only a few original Stormtrooper blasters from Return of the Jedi in private collections today and to have all its original dressing components with no restoration completed. Krueger's signature sweater became increasingly distressed as he terrorized the teens of Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital throughout the film.First appearing in Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy's striped sweater has become a symbol of children's worst nightmares across the franchise. Dream Warriors was nominated in three categories at the 1988 Saturn Awards for its particularly nightmarish dream sequences, as well as upgraded special effects from the previous two installments.This red and green striped knit acrylic sweater was the first place prize won by Nathalie Mineault in a Fangoria magazine contest asking readers to submit their "worst Freddy nightmare in 50 words or less." It has been with Mineault since the contest. Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe) dispatched a gold-masked opponent wielding an ornate ax in his second battle as a gladiator. Similar weapons were also used in the Battle of Vindobona that opened the film.This stunt ax is constructed from rubber molded around an internal metal core, painted brown on the shaft to resemble wood, and painted silver-color on the blade to resemble metal. BATMAN RETURNS (1992) - Static Penguin Commando - A static Penguin Commando from Tim Burton's Batman Returns. Once his plan to kidnap the children of Gotham began to fold, the Penguin (Danny DeVito) released his rocket-wielding Penguin Commandos to destroy Gotham. Production used static penguin puppets to fill out the crowd of live birds, many of whom would not stay still for the duration of the sequence.Batman Returns was nominated for a total of 11 awards, including a Golden Raspberry Award to Danny Devito for Worst Supporting Actor and an MTV Movie Award to Michelle Pfieffer for Most Desirable Actress. Overall, the film won a Saturn Award for Best Make-Up awarded to Ve Neill and Stan Winston. This rubber penguin was molded around metal rods and hand-painted black, white, and silver-color to appear as if it is wearing a helmet and harness. It is affixed via metallic loops on the back with a resin rocket painted silver-color with red and white stripes. GLADIATOR (2000) - Skeletorious Gladiator Helmet - A Skeletorious gladiator helmet from Ridley Scott's Gladiator. Betrayed Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe) fought two Skeletorious gladiators clad in distinctive helmets during his first and second battles as a gladiator in the Zucchabar arena. The helmets were designed by Janty Yates, who won an Oscar® for her costumes for the film.This helmet was gifted by Scott to a film department head when production wrapped. It is constructed from fiberglass applied with a metal powder finish to replicate the appearance of forged steel and features brown leather lace detailing on either side. The interior is lined with leatherette-covered foam for the wearer's comfort.This helmet is intentionally distressed by production to appear well-used in the arena, with battle scars and pitting on the front and back.
