Low-mileage, 2-litre Laser recently emerged from long-term storage and rarely found in such original condition.Capri production mainly finished in 1984 with only RHD, Laser-spec vehicles available from this pointIntroduced in November 1984, the special-edition Capri Laser featured a six-gauge dashboard, tinted glass, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, leather-trimmed gear lever/steering wheel, body-coloured grille/door mirrors, RS alloys, unique graphics, black-painted bumpers and Truro cloth upholsteryThis 2-litre car (formerly BAZ 99) is finished in Nimbus Grey with a Grey Laser interiorWe understand that the car was laid up around five years ago and returned to the road this year. The last MOT was in 2015The odometer indicates 20,335 miles which our vendor believes to be correctRecently emerged from long-term hibernation and rarely found in such original conditionOffered at No Reserve, this lovely low-mileage Laser would be a great addition to any collection of rare FordsFrom November 1984 onwards, the Capri was sold in the UK exclusively, with only right hand drive cars being built from that date. Ford were naturally keen to sell their remaining stock, so the normally-aspirated 1.6 and 2.0-litre variants were rebranded with a new trim level – "Laser" – which featured a six-gauge dashboard, tinted glass, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, leather-trimmed gear lever/steering wheel, body-coloured grille/door mirrors, RS alloys, unique graphics, black-painted bumpers and Truro cloth upholstery. This very smart 2-litre example is finished In Nimbus Grey with a Grey Laser interior. It appears to be completely standard, still fitted with its original Ford radio and is in excellent condition both inside and out. We understand that it was laid-up around five years ago and prior to that, judging by the number of photos online at car shows (registered BAZ 99 at the time), and the very low mileage, we assume it was owned by a Capri enthusiast who used it as a show car taking immense pride in its condition. Only two registered keepers, just 28,000 miles and delightfully original. In 1980, an RS2000 Custom was an extremely aspirational purchase, with the distinctive polyurethane droop snoot front end and air dam, plus a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, SOHC, Pinto engine, offering 0-60mph in just 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 108mphThe key word to describe this car is originality, it still retains all the original body panels and glass and has been looked after extraordinarily well by its three owners from new The spare wheel and tyre are original and unused, as are the ashtray and cigar lighter and 1 key fits all the locks as when new.Supplied new to Breeze of Amble, Morpeth on 6-6-1980, the owner was the Managing Director of a Ford dealership and he immediately treated the car to an application of Dinitrol Acquired by our vendor 2014 and has been professionally stored ever sinceJust 28,250 miles from new, a figure that is corroborated by the car’s MOT HistoryWith a fresh MOT until August next year, this is a great opportunity to own a splendidly original and unmolested example of the rarer 'Custom’ version of a true Ford 1980s icon. It was back in 1970 that Ford introduced their Rally Sport models - the RS range. Originally designed as a way of building limited numbers of homologation specials for serious competition use, it soon grew into a major marketing opportunity, and one that Ford grabbed with both hands. By 1976, when the RS 2000 Mk2 was launched, the term RS had grown to mean something a bit special. In late 1978, the 'Custom Pack' became an option and included the following; 'Fishnet' Recaro seats, full door-cards, clock and pod centre console, 6J x 13″ alloys, boot carpet, remote drivers door mirror and the back panel around the rear lights was painted black. The key word to describe this car is originality. It still retains all the original body panels and glass and has been looked after extraordinarily well by its three owners from new (only two registered keepers on the V5C). Our late, much respected, vendor acquired the car back in 2014 from its second private owner and has professionally stored it ever since, indoors in a showroom and unregistered to him.Showing just 28,250 miles from new, a figure that is corroborated by the car’s MOT History, it drives really well today and is surely one of the best unrestored examples available. When supplied new to Breeze of Amble, Morpeth on 6-6-1980, the owner was the Managing Director of a Ford dealership and he immediately treated the car to an application of Dinitrol, a type of Waxoyl protection, still visible today and which has definitely helped protect the bodywork from any rust or corrosion. The original Custom-spec included some dealer-fitted options when new:Rear Ford mud flapsFront Ford carpet matsGlass sunroofFront wheelarch liners‘Group 1’ vented discs, calipers and compatible brake compensating valveRear seatbeltsJanspeed stainless steel exhaust and manifoldThe car shines in all the right areas - the spare wheel and tyre are original and unused, as are the ashtray and cigar lighter and 1 key fits all the locks as when new.Coming to the sale with a fresh MOT until August next year and a good history file, this is a great opportunity to own a splendidly original and unmolested example of the rarer 'Custom’ version of a true Ford 1980s icon.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: ESCORT MKII RS2000 CUSTOMYear: 1980Chassis Number: GCATAG005340Registration Number: DBB 134VTransmission: ManualEngine Number: AG00534Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 28382 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 312

A simply delightful RS Cosworth, 10,490 warranted miles, patently cared for and refreshingly original. An original, matching numbers, RS Cosworth on offer from a private collectionFinished in sparkling Diamond White with a virtually unmarked Recaro grey cloth interiorThree former keepers and only 10,490 miles from new supported by comprehensive history file Stamped Service Records, handbooks, invoices, V5, original Purchase Invoice, every MOT and a spare set of keysThe current MOT is valid until 24-09-2022 Just 5,545 were built, and very few survive like thisAt its introduction in 1982, the Sierra's revolutionary new shape proved a touch more divisive than Ford had anticipated and some serious marketing became a priority, so it was the obvious choice to become the platform for Ford's new competition aspirations in conjunction with Cosworth. It fitted the brief well as it was rear-wheel drive, had good aerodynamics, albeit being prone to lift at high speeds and was available as a three-door. The new body kit and rear spoiler would sort out the lift issues but, more importantly, Ford still needed to build 5,000 units for homologation, somewhat worrying when the company's initial approach to the dealer network came back with an estimate that suggested they could sell around 1,500 units! The eventual sales record is, of course, history. Ford went on to sell 5,545 three-door cars including the RS500, of which only 500 were built, and the Cosworth engine also found its way into nearly 30,000 Ford Sierra Saloons (Cosworth 3dr, Sapphire 2wd, and 4wd).This particular Sierra Cosworth dates from 1987 and is on offer from the collection of our late and much respected vendor. It has covered, just 10,490 miles from new, a remarkably small mileage which is warranted by the comprehensive history file containing all its MOT Certificates dating back and a thorough record of bills and monies spent. It even contains the original purchase invoice for £14,500 and the bill for its first service !Looking as crisp as ever in Diamond White with a virtually unmarked Recaro grey cloth interior, just three former keepers have had the pleasure of owning this time-warp car from new and it's interesting to see the various values the car has achieved over the years and how the mileage has remained consistently low (5,490 in 1997) and the car refreshingly original. 'Original' is the key word here, frequently misused, but in the case of D33 NKN, totally appropriate and your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to confirm that we do not use the word lightly. The Cosworth is accompanied by the usual stamped Service Records, handbooks, invoices, V5, original Purchase Invoice, every MOT, the current Certificate valid until 24-09-2022 and a spare set of keys.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: SIERRAYear: 1987Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGA06559Registration Number: D33 NKNTransmission: ManualEngine Number: GA06559Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 10271 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 313

Sympathetically restored a few years ago and only lightly used since, this is a superb example of the 'game-changing' Mk1 Twin Cam.This original, road-specification Twin Cam dates from early 1968 and, unusually, was purchased new for road useIt's classically finished in Ermine White with a black interiorRestored in the 1980s by a previous owner, retaining its original AVO Type-49 bodyshell and utilising as many of the original parts as possibleThe quality of the restoration can be judged by the car's subsequent success in RS Owners' Club Concours events With our late vendor for the past seven years in his private collectionAccompanied by some old MOT Certificates, a current one valid until August 2022, a DVLA print-out of previous owners, a period workshop manual and an Owners' HandbookIt's not often that a Mk 1 Twin-Cam of this quality becomes available, a rare chance to own a piece of Ford competition-inspired history. The arrival of the Escort Twin Cam at the start of 1968 marked the second phase of Ford UK's production-car based competitions programme that had commenced with the Lotus Cortina. The latter had used the Ford-based 1.6-litre Lotus Twin Cam engine to good effect, and combining this unit with the smaller and lighter Escort bodyshell would prove to be an inspired move. Reputedly, Ford's Competitions Manager, Henry Taylor, had seen a prototype Escort being tested and recognised its potential.A feasibility study commenced at the Competitions Department's Boreham factory in March 1967, which proved that although the list of modifications required to install the bulky Twin Cam engine and 2000E gearbox was a lengthy one, the transplant was possible. The project duly got the 'green light' and a dedicated Twin Cam production line was set up at Ford's Halewood plant on Merseyside where the cars were assembled by a hand-picked team using the stronger, export-specification Escort two-door bodyshell. Production proper got underway in the spring of 1968 after the first 25 Twin Cams had been assembled at Boreham. Group 3 homologation (500 units built) was achieved in March '68 and apparently, Group 2 (1,000 units) in May, although there may have been some 'artistic licence' with this as it's now clear that Twin Cam production totalled 883 units.Competition success had been the Twin Cam's 'raison d'etre' and Ford's new baby was soon delivering the goods. A pair of the Boreham-built Twin Cams dominated the televised Croft rallycross meeting in February 1968, demonstrating its potential to an audience of millions, while the car's first major international success was achieved during March when Ove Andersson and John Davenport finished 3rd in the San Remo Rally. The Twin Cam's first outright win was achieved by Roger Clark in the Circuit of Ireland Rally at Easter. Despite a short works career that ended in 1971, the Escort Twin Cam won the World Rally 'Championship for Makes' twice, in 1968 and '69, and helped the Alan Mann Racing-entered Frank Gardner take the British Touring Car Championship in '68. This original, road-specification Twin Cam is an early 1968 example finished in Ermine White (nearly all Twin Cams were) with a black interior and, unusually, it was purchased new for road use. It was restored in the 1980s by a previous owner, retaining its original AVO Type-49 bodyshell and utilising as many of the original parts as possible, and has covered very few miles since.  The quality of the restoration can be judged by the fact that XGW 3G placed 2nd in the 2001 RS Owners' Club Concours event at Lightwater Valley in Yorkshire and is well known to the AVO Owners Club. The coachwork, paintwork, engine, gearbox and interior are reported to all be in "very good" condition. We have driven the car and can confirm that it drives superbly with no obvious faults and the 1600 twin cam still delivers plenty of power accompanied by that distinctive engine note that so characterises the 'Twink'.The car has been cossetted in our much respected late vendor's private collection for the last seven years and is supplied with a number of old MOT Certificates, a current one valid until August '22, a DVLA print-out of previous owners, a period workshop manual and a reproduction Owners' Handbook. It's ready to go and presents really well in the metal. It's not often that a Mk 1 Twin-Cam of this quality, properly restored and with good provenance, comes onto the open market and, with prices continuing to climb, this is a rare chance to own a piece of Ford competition-inspired history.  SpecificationMake: FORDModel: ESCORT MK1 TWIN CAMYear: 1968Chassis Number: BB49HY23851Registration Number: XGW 3GTransmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 7200 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

From long-term ownership with only 15,103 miles, the rare and desirable RS500.E389 ERC was first registered on 8th September 1987 and retains its original and unmodified engine and gearboxProfessionally stored by our vendor since his ownership began back in 2006 and seldom usedThe history file confirms the indicated mileage of 15,103 as genuineThe car is accompanied by its service pack, spare keys and an MOT valid until 1/10/2022This lovely Cosworth is in the sort of condition that only comes with low mileage and ownership, and your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to acquaint yourself with this very special RS500The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986, and based on the three-door Sierra body-shell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2.0-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra 'RS500 Cosworth'. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded 'evolution' model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980s Fast Ford!E389 ERC was first registered on 8th September 1987 and retains its original and unmodified engine and gearbox. It remains finished in the original black factory paint and has been professionally stored by our late and much respected vendor since his ownership began back in 2006 and seldom used. The history file confirms the indicated mileage of 15,103 as genuine, with several lengthy periods of the car being off the road, but regularly maintained. The tyres, which look to be original, are starting to crack and perish slightly so a new set will be required if our lucky purchaser intends to use the car, perhaps keeping the originals as part of its provenance. The car is accompanied by its Service Pack, spare keys and an MOT valid until 1-10-2022.This is an extremely rare and highly revered model that epitomises the era, enjoys a dedicated following and has a formidable motorsport legacy - all being vital factors which won't diminish over time and, realistically, it’s value is only going one way. This lovely Cosworth is in the sort of condition that only comes with low mileage and ownership, and your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to acquaint yourself with this very special RS500.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: SIERRA COSWORTH RS500Year: 1989Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG38899Registration Number: E389 ERCTransmission: ManualEngine Number: GG38899 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 15100 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

"Number 1 of 22 Superblowers built between 1997-2001 by the AC Group in Brooklands Hand-crafted aluminium bodywork superbly finished in Stratos Silver and Porsche Ruby RedPowered by a 5-litre (302ci) Ford V8 producing 326bhp/375lb.ft. 0-60 in 4.5 secsFabulous interior in Oxblood leather, with deep red carpets, Smiths cream-faced instruments and a Moto-Lita steering wheelOptioned with Perspex sun-visors, colour-coded boot carpet, Mohair full tonneau, leather half tonneau, factory hood and side screens, headrests, chromed-brass stone guards, side wind-shields, Moto Lita steering wheel and a custom-made dust cover6,100 miles over 24 years in the hands of its 3 owners corroborated by every MOT From four years current ownership. MOT until September 2022 issued with no advisories. Our vendor has generously agreed to leave the Cherished Registration 'R50 COB' with the carThe arrival of the Cobra MkIV in 1983 heralded a new era for AC with the Hurlock family passing on the rights to the marque to Brian Angliss, who had been building Autokraft Cobra replicas for years, using much of the original ’60s tooling. Now officially badged AC these cars were lauded for their high levels of build quality and retention of the original’s spirit. Of course, AC was a very different company by then and despite healthy order books and enthusiastic owners, especially in the USA, it was beginning to struggle financially. Original 5.8-litre (302cu in) powered cars were a little bit disappointing on the performance front, but AC soon launched a lightweight version, which restored the balance somewhat. However, Angliss' tenancy of the company didn't last long, his relationship with Ford was a little ‘bumpy’, and by the 1990s, he had thrown in the towel and the company had passed on to new owner Alan Lubinski. In 1996 the company was purchased by Pride Automotive and two new 'Cobra' style cars were launched in 1997, the 'Superblower', an aluminium-bodied car with a supercharged 4,942-cubic-centimetre (301.6ci) Ford V8 providing 326bhp and the cheaper 'Carbon Road Series' (CRS) with a carbonfibre body and a 225bhp version of the Ford V8 engine. A total of 22 Superblowers and 37 CRS models were built between 1997 and 2001 as confirmed by the 'AC Car Group'. Silverstone Auctions are delighted to be able to offer this striking AC Cobra, one of the most recognisable sports car profiles in the world. It's one of just 22 supercharged 'Superblower' models hand-built in sheet aluminium by skilled English craftsmen at AC Car Group in Brooklands using some of the original factory tooling. It's logical to assume that #ACSB 7001 was probably the first 'Superblower' finished considering its 1997 registration date and the fact that the other Superblowers that we have seen are somewhere between 7001 and 7022.The car is powered by a supercharged 5-litre (302ci) Ford V8 producing 326bhp/375lb.ft. and offering 0-60 in 4.5 secs and 155mph. This power is fed through a 5-speed manual Borg-Warner T50 box to a 3.31 final drive. It's superbly presented in gleaming Silver with twin stripes in Porsche Ruby Red enhanced by colour-coded, polished-rim Halibrands with 3-eared knock offs, a chrome roll hoop, chrome nudge bars, riveted bonnet air-scoop, chromed brass stone guards, Perspex sun-visors, side wind shields and a classic 'Carroll Shelby Motors' US-style number plate holder. The interior is equally impressive with Oxblood leather, matching carpets, Smiths cream-faced instruments in a silver panel and a bespoke Moto-Lita steering wheel. It's supplied with a Mohair half-tonneau, a leather half-tonneau, Factory hood and side screens, a fire extinguisher and a fitted indoor dust cover. Our vendor is the Cobra's third owner and the indicated mileage of a tad short of 6,100 miles is corroborated by the 18 MOT Certificates in the history file. It's taxed and MOT'd until September 2022 and our vendor has generously agreed to leave the Cherished Registration 'R50 COB' with the car. An AC leather Mont Blanc wallet contains all the information and relevant paperwork on the car from new. This is a beautiful motor car in lovely condition, it's very rare and, importantly it's a REAL AC Cobra. Having travelled quite a lot in, somewhat agricultural, early cars and enjoyed trips in various replicas some well engineered and some a lot less so, the single question that always awaits whenever you stop is "Is it a real one, mate". But in this case, instead of having to explain that it's a 'Dipstick Mark 3' or whatever, the undoubtedly enjoyable response will be "It certainly is". Whatever its early history, the Tiger has more recent Manx Rally and Sprint history and lived on the Isle of Man for some time in the late 70s to late 80s registered as 644 SPB. We understand that it was fitted with an engine built by Steve Burns to ‘Sprint’ spec (Steve was Sunbeam Tiger Owners Club Competitions Secretary at the time). It was subsequently sold to Peter Marshall who returned it to EHP 171C during his ownership. The current chapter of this Tiger’s tale began in 2015 when it was purchased by our vendor since when it has been through a comprehensive, ground-up, ‘rotisserie’ restoration by Miles Classics Huddersfield, Alpha Auto Concepts, and John Sleath Racing Doncaster. The cars History File can be inspected at our ‘Documents Desk’ and within the file are restoration invoices to the value of over £88,000 alongside a splendid collection of images displaying exactly where it went. The engine was been fully rebuilt as a fast-road spec by JSR Doncaster and dyno tested at 282.9bhp. New fast-road clutch, headers, hp radiator and header tank, larger fan, MSG electronic ignition and Holley 600cfm carb/air filter – all new. 'Powered by Ford' painted rocker-covers, Kenlowe twin electric fans and silicone hosing throughout. It also has a shatter proof bell-housing fitted and Lockheed servo-assisted brakes. There is evidence of the car’s race history with a solid firewall in the boot rather than the curtain as standard and the original battery cut-off has been retained and re-located in the boot. The gearbox tunnel is also modified to receive the ‘top loader’ Hurst Super Sifter with reverse lock-out, again still fitted to the car.The Tiger’s interior is really special as can be gleaned from the relevant invoice; “Retrim Tiger interior in Saddle Tan Bentley leather, including seats, doors, dash and various panels. Make new stereo housing console and speaker footwell panels. Fit sound deadening and install new carpets and underlay throughout. Full boot interior retrim including panels, battery cover and wheel cover. Fit mohair hood to frame and fit fixing to car body. Trim hardtop headlining and make hood bag. Total invoice price: £9,900.”The same attention has been paid to the Sunbeam’s exterior and it now looks fabulous in a deep Cherry Black with a matching hardtop and sitting on a set of period Halibrands. The car is STOC registered and has been featured in the Tiger Times, Rallye Sport, and many Classic magazines. It’s accompanied by the original Green Logbook showing its ownership up to 1973, a full photographic history of the rebuild, receipts/bills etc, tons of history, workshop manuals, original copies, spare parts and more. A full engine spec is available on request. Our vendor has invested more than £110,000 in this remarkable motor car which makes the current guide seem very sensible. We welcome and encourage any inspection of this top Tiger.SpecificationMake: SUNBEAMModel: TIGERYear: 1965Chassis Number: B9472424HR0FERegistration Number: EHP 171CDrive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Desirable 'Executive' 3.0-litre V6 Capri Mk 1 with just 69,980 miles.Historic restoration including new wings and a high quality respray in Evergreen MetallicEngine and auto box fully rebuilt within the last 200 miles with many ancillaries either refurbished or replacedSuspension rebuilt with poly-bushes. Fitted with a full custom stainless exhaust systemThis is one of the sharpest 3000 E’s without doubt on offer and has been truly well cared forSupplied with a small history file including some old MOTsLaunched in 1969 as 'The car you always promised yourself', the Capri was Ford Europe's response to the mighty sales success of the Mustang in America. The luxury version was launched in March 1970 as the 3000E and was the fastest car that Ford Britain had ever sold and, next to the 3000GT, it was the model that all Capri owners aspired to. Ford's marketing was in full swing with a motorsport program that was sweeping all aside on the race circuits of Europe. "'Win on Sunday, sell on Monday'' was paying dividends for Ford and this superbly equipped, for its time, 3.0-litre V6 version was hugely desirable. This rare, UK-supplied 3000E Automatic was fitted with the same Essex V6 engine as the GT and produced 138bhp. Finished in Evergreen Metallic, a rare colour in period with a Tan interior, this model sports the cloth centre inserts in the seats unique to the 3000E. Over more recent times, it's been treated to a pair of new front wings and a quality repaint in Evergreen. The engine and gearbox have both been fully overhauled recently and the car has covered less than 200 miles since. The suspension was also restored with Poly-bushes being fitted and the underside finished off with a full stainless steel exhaust. In a super colour with its black vinyl roof, polished Rostyle wheels, stainless exhaust and good chrome, this is a very attractive example of a rare and collectable 70s legend. SpecificationMake: FORDModel: CAPRI 3000EYear: 1971Chassis Number: BBECKA32752Registration Number: WKR 888JTransmission: Automatic Engine Number: BBECKA32752Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 69980 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: TanClick here for more details and images

Supplied by Evans Halshaw Ford of Preston to the first and only registered keeper on the 28th November 2003Finished in Imperial Blue with the Sparco front seats trimmed in contrasting black and blue leather with alcantara insertsThe rear seats are similarly trimmed with the handbrake and gear knob finished in machined aluminiumA brisk 0-60 mph is achieved in 5.9 seconds from the Garret-turbocharged 2.0-litre engine mated to a short-shift, five-speed gearboxBought new by a prominent Lancashire businessman, driven for a weekend, and correctly stored thereafterOffered to auction with just 335 miles (atoc) on factory supplied tyres with the two keys still attached to the Evans Halshaw leather key fobsSupplied with an RS monogrammed bookpack that includes the manuals, service book and a fresh MOT which will be valid until October 2022With a heritage cemented by rally legend Colin McCrae, any Ford Focus RS Mk1 is special but this car is in another league and deserving of serious consideration. In 2002 Ford launched the Focus RS, returning those famous letters to one of its cars for the first time since the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The new Focus RS was inspired by Colin McRae's WRC rally exploits and featured a 2.0-litre Duratec RS engine with an advanced turbocharging system and oil-spray cooled pistons to achieve more power - which eventually peaked at 215 bhp and 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds. The chassis was developed and a Quaife torque-biasing differential fitted to ensure optimal front-wheel-drive tractability. Suspension was by uprated offset coil springs with Sachs Racing dampers whilst stopping power was provided by Brembo brakes. The cabin was competition-inspired and featured leather and Alcantara Sparco seats. The exterior of the car took a number of styling cues from the WRC rally car and even used custom 18inch O.Z. Racing alloy wheels as a nod to its competition cousin. This amazing example was supplied by Evans Halshaw Ford of Preston to its first and only registered keeper on the 28th November 2003 finished in Imperial Blue with the Sparco front seats trimmed in contrasting black and blue leather with Alcantara inserts. The rear seats are similarly trimmed and the handbrake and gear knob are finished in machined aluminium. The interior is further enhanced by the addition of carbon fibre to the gear-stick surround and the door cards have blue-trimmed inserts. The car was bought new by a notable Lancashire businessman and collector who used it for a weekend and then subsequently stored it, with the V5C remaining in the original owner’s name. Presented to auction in the condition that you might expect with a car that has covered just 335 miles from new, at the time of cataloguing. The RS monogrammed book pack includes the manuals, service book and a fresh MOT will be valid until October 2022. The Evans Halshaw monogrammed key fobs are still attached to the two keys, the rear screen bears the supplying dealer sticker and the car sits on the original factory-supplied tyres. The “Fast Ford” market has always been led by low mileage, factory-original cars and none come better than this example. Impressively original, just 40,000 miles and from 26 years of dutiful ownership.Offered for sale for the first time in 26 yearsLovingly cared for and kept in tip-top original condition by a real marque enthusiastNever modified or restored, original features galoreAccompanied by its complete book-pack, including service booklet, plus lots of paperworkArguably in the best colour for a Sierra CosworthFor the collector-buyer that knows their Cosworths, this is the carThe Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was launched at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show and was the first Ford to wear the 'Cosworth' badge. Only 5,545 were built to homologate the car for Group A Touring Car racing and were based on the 3-door Sierra bodyshell but fitted with a 2.0-litre turbo engine of now legendary repute. It featured a double overhead-camshaft, 16-valve engine with a Garret T3 turbo and intercooler, giving a reliable 204bhp which enabling a top speed of 150mph and 0-60 in just 6.8 seconds. This UK-supplied, right-hand drive car was supplied new by Sandicliffe Ford, and it still wears their original number plates. Described by our vendor, who has owned the car since 1995 - so he should know, as immaculate, and in outstanding, untouched (never welded) condition with a genuine 40,300 miles, which is supported by a full-service history and some paperwork. The paintwork, all panels and the glass are said to be all original to the car, plus there are two keys, and the original stereo and parcel shelf have been kept safe to accompany it. Recently serviced with a new cambelt and sparkplugs, this is a fit and extremely well-preserved Fast Ford. The bodywork is indeed in superb order and the original colour of Diamond White is as crisp as ever. The mechanicals have all been checked over and no modifications have been made to this factory-original car contrasting with the many similar cars that ended up with modified turbos, suspension, and trim. As such, it is highly collectable today and the Sierra Cosworth has now been recognised as a real future classic, with many experts predicting sustained long-term growth in value - like the limited-edition fast Fords of previous generations. The indicated mileage is 40,300 and this is backed up by service records, and its commensurate condition. An early RS500 showing just 23,222 miles from new with a detailed history file and recent Paul Linfoot report.Tickford build sheets confirm this car as #215 out of 500 and first registered on the 3rd August 1987The detailed history file includes well stamped service book, numerous MOTs, historical invoices. There are two condition reports from 1991 and 2021Compiled by noted RS 500 expert Paul Linfoot, the 2021 condition report states the boost gauge is present and only fitted to early carsIt also notes that the mileage of 23,222 (atoc) is consistent with the interior, radio, gear knob and original exhaust systemThe car was professionally painted in 2015 and the panels are straight with no signs of rust according to the report which is available pre-auction via emailThe report is also complimentary of the shut lines as we note that the car sustained light damage to the front in its early life and is registered as an insurance loss, damaged and repairedWe welcome any inspection of this beautiful car and its impressive leather bound history file. The Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled. Just 500 three-door Sierra Cosworths were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the RS500, and copy build sheets confirm that this car was number 215.First registered on the 3rd August 1987 as “E321 EPD” the well stamped service book supplied in the incredibly detailed history file shows periodic services consistent with incremental mileage increases and corresponds to the historical MOTs. A condition report dated 31st October 1991 written by Boddington, Mee Consulting Automotive Engineers of Nottingham shows the odometer reading as 2,972 miles and notes that there is slight damage to the N/S/F corner front bumper mounting and “no sign of major accident damage”. With no other reference in the history file to any further accident damage it appears that the 1991 report accounts for why the car appears on some online car history check websites as “repaired and inspected after being previously written off”. It would also be consistent with the low values of the model in the early 1990s and why the insurance loss adjuster may have been stricter with light damage. The car is offered from a small Ford collection and upon inspection we noted that the ECU mounted behind the “RS” panel on the dashboard appears to be the original with the Morrelli stickers covering the screw holes free of tampering. The interior is wholly consistent of a car of this mileage and the rear parcel shelf is “bowed”, a common RS500 characteristic, further confirms the interior’s originality and the first aid kit can be found in the usual spot. The car was professionally repainted in 2015 and presents well today retaining a deep gloss shine. The engine bay was attended to at the same time by respected RS specialist Paul Linfoot who replaced the wing sealer to the replacement wing(s) and fitted new brackets, bolts and screws where appropriate.Paul Linfoot compiled a report on the 17th October 2021, copies of which can be emailed to interested parties pre-auction, and we have, with Paul’s permission, reproduced some excerpts here, which of course can be read in context within the full written report:“The car carries all its correct RS500 unique parts that were fitted during its conversion. The original RS500 bumpers/spoilers and splitters are all in very good condition and fit correctly.”“The interior is in very good condition and consistent with the car's low miles of 23,222, with its original Ford stereo and amplifier fitted and working. The seats and door cards are all correct and in good condition. The original leather gear knob is also present and in good condition, these are often replaced as they didn't wear very well.”“The exterior of the car presents very well, its shut lines are all how they should be and the panels are straight and rust free…The correct pin stripe and (RS500) badge is proudly on display on the front wings and rear tailgate.”“The underside looks original and untouched but solid and again the correct RS500 rear beam sits in place along with an original exhaust system that are usually replaced in favour of a modern stainless steel system.”In relation to the car’s insurance registry status Paul said “It is my opinion that on older cars this is less important and any vehicle should be valued on its present overall condition rather than what may have happened while the car’s value was at its lowest.”We conclude that this car, whilst estimated to reflect it’s damaged-repaired status, should be judged on its current condition, superb history and low mileage. SpecificationMake: FORDModel: SIERRA RS 500Year: 1987Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG38672Registration Number: E321 EPDTransmission: ManualEngine Number: GG38672 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 23500 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images

A rare, UK-supplied, right-hand drive example of Porsche's legendary 356C.A rare UK-supplied, right-hand drive example of the legendary 356CBuilt on the 20th of January 1965 and UK-registered on the 1st of April 1965Originally finished in Bali Blue with black leather and registered to AFN Ltd. as a demonstratorOptioned from new with an OAT gauge, oil pressure gauge, St Christopher medallion, radio and speakers, lap seat-belts, Hella fog lights and headrestsThe second owner was a Mr H J Garland who owned the car right through until 2019, using it frequently up until 1980 when it was dry storedEngine sent to Germany for a rebuild at this time. Only around 400 miles sinceRepainted Orange and then latterly treated to a coat of Ford Anchor BluePurchased by our vendor in 2019 and gently recommissioned; fuel system, brakes, electrics, ignition and all fluids Supplied with a Porsche CoA and the original number plate will remain on the vehicleWidely acknowledged as Porsche's first venture into motor manufacturing, the 356 was a lightweight and nimble rear engined, rear-wheel-drive, two-door sporting car available in hardtop coupé and open configurations. Over a 15-year production period, the 356 evolved from an aluminium bodied coupé with an 1100cc air-cooled flat-four engine, to a proper sports car with a 2,000cc four-cam Carrera engine producing 130 bhp.At first glance, the 356C, introduced in mid-1963, differed little from the prior 356B since it continued to use the T-6 body type which had arrived in 1962. Porsche, however, brought the 356 concept to its zenith with the 356C, which was available in coupe and cabriolet form. The new 356 also benefited from the addition of Dunlop four-wheel disc brakes as standard, a higher-lift camshaft for the 1600cc engine, new flat-face hubcaps, and deeper bucket seats. These seats came courtesy of Porsche's acquisition of Reutter, which included the future Recaro subsidiary. 356 production peaked at 14,151 cars in 1964 which was the first year the new 911 model went on the market. Porsche did, however, continue to sell the 356C in North America through to the end of 1965. In 2004 the US magazine 'Sports Car International' named the 356C number ten on the list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s. Today the Porsche 356 is a well-regarded collector's car that has stood the test of time and worldwide, thousands of 356 owners maintain the tradition, preserving their cars and driving them regularly. This particular car, MMU 95C, is a rare example indeed being a UK-supplied, right-hand drive car manufactured on the 20th of January 1st 1965 and registered on the 1st of April 1965. It was originally finished in Bali Blue with a Black leather interior and registered to AFN Ltd. as a demonstrator, and there is a sales record from AFN confirming the details. Chassis 131867 / Engine P.813597 / Ignition/door key K302 / Gear lock Key FE63 and Glove Box Key GZ365. The AFN stock number was 4.027.135 with registration number MMU 95C. The car was optioned from new with an outside air temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, St Christopher medallion on the glove box, radio and speakers, lap seat-belts, Hella fog lights and head rests. The second owner was a Mr H J Garland who owned the car right through until his passing in 2019 and used it frequently up until 1980 when it was stored on blocks but regularly had the engine turned over. Mr Garland also decided to have the engine rebuilt at around the same time and this was sent off to Germany to be done and the car has only covered 400 odd miles since it was returned and refitted. He had the car painted Orange during his ownership and then latterly back to Ford Anchor Blue, an attractive hue which it still displays today. There are details within the file of work carried out by AFN, relating to services and some body repairs, (front near side wing ) the requirement for which is detailed in a book “From Chain Drive to Turbocharger, The AFN Story” by Dennis Jenkinson, page 176 at which point the Porsche was being driven by John Aldington of AFN when the accident occurred.Since our vendor has owned the car (2019) the 356 has been totally recommissioned to including the whole fuel system, brakes all refurbished with calipers and pads being replaced and all fluids changed . Electrically the car has been gone through making sure all items work and the ignition system has been overhauled at the same time. It's supplied with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and the original number plate will remain on the vehicle. This little Porsche has lived a life. 55 years with its second owner, a couple of colour changes and numerous adventures during the Sixties and Seventies, however, gently recommissioned and with a fresh MOT it's now ready to live some more..SpecificationMake: PORSCHEModel: 356CYear: 1965Chassis Number: 131867Registration Number: MMU 95CTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 8135971Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 50672 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

A really lovely XJS 'Celebration, only two owners and just 15,000 miles.A late production 'Celebration' from the last year of productionA beautiful combination of Ice Blue over an Oatmeal leather interior with Burr Elm woodworkJust two owners from new with just less than 15,000 miles showing on the odometerMost recently serviced on 18/08/2021 at 14,800 milesSupplied with an original book pack with the service record containing 15 stamps and its original Bill of Sale for £36,910 from January 1996Launched in September 1975 as a replacement for the E-Type, the XJS could only cheat time for so long and, in 1991, parent company Ford thoroughly reworked the luxury Grand Tourer at a cost of £50 million. Incorporating some 40 percent new panels, the rejuvenated model range sported a revised grille, headlamps, tail-lights, bumpers and rear wings. Its cabin, meanwhile, gained a new walnut facia and improved sports seats. The new version was powered by either a punchy straight-six (3980cc) or a soporific V12 (5343cc) engine; the former DOHC unit developed some 223bhp and 283lbft of torque. Featuring a five-speed manual transmission as standard, the 4.0-litre XJS could also be had with a four-speed automatic gearbox. Capable of over 140mph, the model proved to be a refined and relaxing drive, and production continued until 1996. The 'Celebration' was the final iteration of Jaguar's XJ-S (later XJS). Its unique specification was in recognition of 60 years of the Jaguar brand and included chromed rear view mirrors and headlight surrounds; 'Aerosport' diamond-cut alloy wheels, steering wheel with wood sections top and bottom separated by leather on the sides and airbag, the wooden selector lever for the automatic transmission, the black handbrake lever with full leather cover, a Jaguar "leaper" embossed into the leather in the upper part of the seat backs, and contrasting piping around the seats and boot cover. This particular example of the 4.0 Celebration was registered on the 1st of January 1996 to its first owner who passed away in 2006 at which point the car became the property of the gentleman’s step son and has been owned by him ever since. Finished in Ice Blue Metallic with a complementing Oatmeal Leather interior, this very special car has travelled a mere 15,000 miles from new and has been cossetted all its life. It's supplied with an original bill of sale from the first owner (£36,910), the original handbook and stamped service book showing evidence of fifteen stamps with the last service being carried out at 14,800 miles on the 18th of August this year (2021).The alloy wheels have just been refurbished and are wrapped in, as new, rubber and the car is presented in superb condition overall with working Cruise Control, Air Conditioning and Electric Seats. Where else can you find a sub-15,000 mile 4.0 Celebration? This elegant Jaguar will not disappoint and is sure to grace any collection. The Celebration brochure from 1995 states "A car offering more excitement, distinction and value for money than ever before", equally true today. A superbly engineered ultimate Land Rover, created by the brains behind marque experts 'LOF'.A labour of love turning a 2011 Defender Puma XS into the ultimate performance Land RoverFord Performance 5.0-litre 'Coyote' Gen 2 V8 engine with 450bhp and 550Nm - a far superior V8 installation upgrade than using a Chevrolet LS-engineGalvanised Marsland (OEM) chassis with the V8 mounted in the exact position that the diesel engine was fittedAshcroft Transmissions created a custom, one-of-one, manual 6-speed gearbox, designed and installed to fit to the V8 engine and accept the standard Defender transfer boxLOF EXTREME-spec output shaft, coupled to an upgraded LT230 LR transfer box rebuilt by Winchester Gears, fitted with larger bearings, stronger shafts and an ATB centre differentialRebuilt front & rear axles, new Winchester gears, automatic torque biasing differentials front and back, LOF 6-pot big brake kit and HD driveshaftsFull 'Lucari' interior and other upgrades (aluminium hinges, door handles, etc.)Test proven for some 500 miles, professionally detailed, ceramic coated, plus an MOT inspection was completed by a main dealerFollowing the successful reception of the all-new Land Rover Discovery in 1989, it was decided to give the traditional Land Rover its own name: 'Defender'. Despite, or perhaps because of, being recognisably related to the very first Land Rover of 1948, the Defender retained a steadfastly loyal customer base, indeed, in the UK in 2013 it even managed to out-sell the Range Rover.Big enough for all the family plus a brace of Labradors and luggage in the back, long-wheelbase Defenders remain highly usable, long-term keepers thanks to their practicality and their personality. For decades, the long-wheelbase model has found favour with diverse buyers, from armies and police forces to country hotels and farmers. In more recent times, Defenders have transcended to a new and different level, with tuning companies adapting them into high-performance driving machines, still with all the innate character, but with some startling new additions! The Defender 110 presented here is quite exceptional. Starting life as a 2011 TDCi XS model with the four-cylinder, 2.4-litre Puma unit, this latest engine was coupled to a revised, quieter transfer case and a new six-speed manual gearbox, which allowed a longer top gear for quiet, efficient long-distance cruising.Enter 'LOF' of Leicestershire, a specialist Land Rover manufacturing business, run by a chap whose Land Rover knowledge is quite simply encyclopaedic. Renowned for their engineering prowess, they manufacture and sell superb, uprated clutches, brakes, and other components for Land Rovers. 'Attention to detail' dictate how they manufacture and this ethos we see with this vehicle project.LOF set about creating the ultimate 110, to showcase the best of their products, plus some other choice offerings, going down the route of installing, at the heart of this vehicle, an American V8 engine. Many Land Rover tuners have done this, but to no greater effect than we see here - a more adaptable, sophisticated Ford-based 5.0-litre 'Coyote' Gen 2, V8 engine was utilised. Burbling through an adjustable exhaust value system, it is as tuneful as you would want from such a special engine. Around this, the rest of the vehicle was enhanced with specialist, high-quality products to create a super-powerful, yet very driveable high-performance 4x4. Properly designed, built, tested, and even ceramic coated, this is one hell of a Land Rover. With an amazing specification sheet (full details on request), an exemplary finish and attention to detail, this 110, nicknamed 'The DefStang', offers presence and performance to rival that of the £143,370 G63 'G-Wagon' or indeed Land Rover's own £150,000 Defender Works V8 70th Edition.SpecificationMake: LAND ROVERModel: DEFENDER 110 COYOTE 5.0 V8Year: 2011Chassis Number: SALLDHMS7BA824808Registration Number: V8 VBNTransmission: Manual Engine Number: 101119033556244DTDrive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDInterior Colour: Bespoke Click here for more details and images

Never has there been a car that has so captured the imagination of the world. Land Rovers have saved lives, won wars, delivered aid and hope, conveyed Kings and Queens and numerous Popes, ferried injured animals from the lowliest sheep to the proudest lion to safety. The Land Rover has conquered ravines, deserts and snow, broken records and along the way won the hearts of millions. For 2007, the Defender benefitted from a serious revamp with a new common-rail diesel EU4-compliant engine from the Ford Transit, a new six-speed gearbox, new facia, new seats and a heating and ventilation system that actually works. The XS specification from 2007 included electric windows to the front, half-leather seating and a fancier dashboard than standard. Land Rover had acknowledged that perhaps not all Defenders were destined for muddy tracks, rivers and moorland, and those drivers that did have a Labrador as a front-seat companion might find it convenient to open the passenger window at the touch of a button. The Defender 90 in XS specification offered perhaps the best affordable combination of drivability, passenger comfort for four and rear load capacity when required due to the foldable seats. The Defender 90 is also far easier to park than its longer wheelbase sibling, the 110, and the Defender is as popular in town as it is in the country.Supplied new to the first of just two former keepers on 28th September 2007, this Defender 90 XS was used on a large private estate for the first ten years or so before being dried stored until purchased by our vendor, the car’s third owner, on the 21st June 2021. Intended for country pursuits, our vendor swiftly concluded that the Land Rover was “too good” for his intentions and presents the car to auction with a fresh fluid service and five brand new tyres on SVX anniversary dual tone alloy wheels. Greater illumination is provided via the LED headlight kit, which are a welcome bonus compared to the original headlights. The odometer reading is some 48,500 miles at the time of cataloguing.Whilst there are fancier, and substantially more expensive, examples on the market, this unassuming Defender 90 XS offers a multitude of uses on either turf or tarmac at a sensible estimate.SpecificationMake: LAND ROVERModel: DEFENDER 90Year: 2007Chassis Number: SALLDVBS77A743193Registration Number: DY57 WXKClick here for more details and images
