CAMPBELL MALCOLM: (1885-1948) British racing motorist. Major Campbell held the world speed record on land and on water in the 1920s and 30s using vehicles called Blue Bird. Short T.L.S., `M. Campbell´, one page, 5 x 5.5 page, London, 31st March 1932, on the Old Bond Street House printed stationery, to Master P. M. Gosse. The letter bears a 2.5 x 1.5 photograph attractively affixed, the image showing Campbell in a head and shoulders pose, on his Blue Bird, wearing his racing helmet and glasses. Campbell thanks his correspondent for his letter and sends his autograph and photograph. A good bold fountain pen ink signature. Remnants of former affixing to the verso. Rare fountain pen ink full signature `Josef Mengele´ on a small oblong 12mo piece neatly clipped from an official document, with the printed text beneath "Unterschrift". Matted in black beneath a 5 x 7 photograph of Mengele, the image showing him in a profile head and shoulders pose, and above a brief printed biography. KENNEDY MERNA: (1908-1944) American Actress. Best known for her role opposite Charlie Chaplin in the silent film The Circus (1928). Rare signed postcard photograph, the Ross image depicting Kennedy standing, in a full length pose, alongside a white horse, in a scene of The Circus film. Signed in bold blue fountain pen ink across the image. Kennedy died of a heart attack at the early age of 36, only four days after her marriage. VG £80-100

Eiffel´, two pages, 8vo, written to the first and last pages permitting attractive framed full display, on his printed stationery, 1, Rue Rabelais, Paris, 3rd June 1900, to an unidentified woman, in French. Written and signed in purple fountain pen ink. Eiffel states in part `I have forwarded to the Company of La Tour [Eiffel] the wish you have explained to me regarding the shipment of the projectors lights..´ Together with several contemporary newspapers with important articles related to Eiffel, including Figaro editions dated 28th May and 21st June 1889. With a Stern Paris watermark. Overall creasing, folded. Pinholes to the upper corners as a result of former affixing. About G, 4 £600-900

To the verso bearing a printed stick, stating it is a portrait by Hugh Cecil, numbered, and a 12mo printed card stating "H.R.H. The Prince of Wales K.G. - to Alderman Herbert Hicks J.P - in remembrance of H.R.H´s visit to Sandwich during his Mayoralty. Christmas 1927."
