Men's fashion: A Messori 'Black Label' black leather full length single-breasted Coat, the incredibly soft leather, beautifully tailored with styling details, including button down patch pockets and double revere collar lined in cropped fur/wool, this extends inside the upper part of the coat, the rest lined in 'Messori' jacquard sateen, Italian size 58 (UK equivalent 46/48), unused, still with shop labels, original selling price circa £2,800.

America.- Meares (John) Voyages...from China to the North West Coast of America, first edition, list of subscribers, engraved portrait frontispiece, 10 engraved maps and charts, some folding, 17 sepia-printed plates, some folding, a few with short tears, some light spotting and offsetting, uncut in contemporary marbled boards, rebacked, edges worn, [Abbey, Travel 594; Hill 1126; Sabin 47260; Howes M468], 4to, Printed at the Logographic Press, 1790.⁂ A good, uncut copy (measuring 312 x 235mm.) of "one of the early and fundamental books on the Northwest coast of America in general and on Alaska in particular" (Lada-Morcarski). Meares engaged in fur-trading in the Pacific North-West and established a base at Nootka Sound. It was his claim to the land here that led to the Nootka controversy and almost full-scale war between Britain and Spain.

Approx size 14-16. Very good condition but a couple of marks to lining. Together with a faux fur and fleece lined pillbox hat.
