Wz. Adler.Der erste Teil einer dreiteiligen Serie bestehend aus insgesamt 20 Blatt zuzüglich Titel zur Geschichte der Medici (Mediceae Familiae Rerum...). Sie zählt zu den frühen Arbeiten von Goltzius für Philips Galle. Dem jungen Künstler werden fünf Darstellungen (Nr. 2, 5-8) zugeschrieben, Galle stach die restlichen drei. Sämtlich in frühen Zuständen vor Tilgung der Nummern. Ausgezeichnete bis ganz ausgezeichnete Drucke mit Plattenton und meist schmalem Rand. Vereinzelt fleckig und im weißen Rand fingerfleckig, sechs Blatt mit Braunfleck im linken Außenrand, punktuell unauffällig hinterlegte Randeinrisse, wenige unscheinbare Löchlein, weitere Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, sonst sehr gut und einheitlich. Beigegeben von Galle drei Blatt aus dem zweiten Teil derselben Serie (NH, Stradanus, 361, 363, 365), weiterhin von Goltzius "Die Auferstehung" (H. 325) mit dem Veräußerungsstempeln des Berliner Kupferstichkabinetts (Lugt 2922, 4957), von demselben 3 (von 4) Kupferstiche aus der frühen Serie "Wege zum Glück" (NH, Goltzius, 199, 200, 201), davon zwei Blatt aus der Sammlung E. Fabricius (Lugt 847a, 919bis) sowie mit einem wohl unbekannten Veräußerungsstempel, "Ars et Usus" zudem aus dem Kupferstichkabinett des Stockholmer Nationalmuseums (Lugt 1982). A mid 19th century bronze and ormolu French Empire mantel clock with the figure of Patrocle stood to one side drawing his sword stood on a rectangular plinth. Written on the clock face is ‘’Galle Rue Vivienne no’9’’. To include key and pendulum. 50cm high, 31cm wide and 15cm deep.Condition: overall in good condition, some oxidisation to the ormolu, the back to the movement is no longer with the clock.
