A highly impressive marquetry inlaid cased travelling cocktail set for eight persons with cut glass accessories. The mahogany case has a central urn inlaid to the lid with recessed brass campaign handles to the sides, opening to a maroon velvet-lined interior fitted with a set of four heavy cut glass decanters with glass stoppers and eight crystal glass tumblers, with Barker Ellis electroplate salver contained in the lid and with lower front drawer on runners containing stirring spoon, corkscrew, knife and bottle opener with stag antler handles, with key, all presented in beautiful condition. **Please note that one of the glasses has a 2mm chip on the rim**Fabulous, exceptionally rare, beautifully laid-out, highly impressive six-person fold-fronted picnic set, believed to be by M.T. Wetzlar, Munich, Germany. This is a superb 100% complete picnic set in good honest condition with normal, light, age related wear. Complete with a fine set of two centrally mounted rare nickel kettles, both with intricately woven wicker handles, with burners and burner stand, all exactly as found. They are able to be moved into a pouring position for ease of handling. To the rear of the basket are two substantial heavy glass drinking bottles with matching nickel stoppers, two stacking sandwich boxes and an unusual ceramic butter pot whose lid is held in place with leather strap. In the lid is a full set of 1904 cutlery, attractively held in place within the lid with leather straps. There is a stacking set of nickel drinking beakers, six fine bone china cups with gilt edges held in a wire-support framework and china saucers held in leather straps on the fold-down front section. The lid is held with a central lock on leather strap with sturdy twin leather carrying straps with brass buckles and robust leather carrying handle.An excellent, useable, highly impressive picnic set for fine alfresco dining or to gain valuable points at an automobile concours event such as Pebble Beach, Lake Como, Greenwich, Salon Prive, Amelia Island or indeed the London Concours.Click here for more details and images
