Dr. Christopher Dresser (British 1834-1904) for James Couper & Sons, Glasgow "Clutha" Glass Bottle Vase Circa 1890, the clear body with trailed blue and bubble inclusions, acid etched mark "Clutha" to base, trace of further mark "Designed by C.D.", also bearing Liberty & Co. lotus flower trademark.19cm high"Clutha" is the old Gaelic name for Glasgow's principle river, the Clyde; this series of glassware was designed by Dresser as a new venture for the Couper firm primarily known for their scientific glass production. Dresser took inspiration from Roman glass when designing this range and it was retailed exclusively by Liberty's in London, hence their trademark to the base.There are three lines to the upper neck with can be felt with a fingernail both interior and exterior; a very small surface blister also to this area; some further light surface wear noticeable by feel more than sight.
Designed by Bertil Vallien, a set of 2 clear champagne glassware to celebrate the millennium, and to inspire peace and optimism. The stem of the glass depicts millennium as a human reaching for an air bubble, as if to reach towards the future of possibilities. Kosta Boda marked, number glass 7206 and 7207. Artist signed. A box of glassware to include six champagne flutes, together with a pottery bowl, two small chandeliers, a box of two bowler hats and a riding set and a sewing machine CONDITION REPORTS Sewing machine only - is in better condition than the box. Flaking to the edges of the sewing machine. Scratches to the surface of the whole sewing machine throughout. Unknown if complete. No obvious missing parts or damage - see images for more details. Knob connected to the belt is wrapped in Sellotape. Cord to the foot pedal has been cut off . Also unable to remove the foot pedal from the box lid. Sewing machine is a black Singer machine and has general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details.
