GLENGOYNE 30 YEAR OLD 2000 AD MILLENNIUM WITH GRANDFATHER CLOCK CASE Bottle Number: 0778 / 200051.3% ABV / 70cl Founded in 1833, Glengoyne distillery, just to the north of Glasgow, straddles the Highland/Lowland border. The light, fruity and honied spirit is predominantly filled into Sherry Casks that are transported from its Highland Still House, across the road to its warehouses in the Lowlands. Glengoyne wasn't seriously marketed as a single malt until the 1990s, and has since achieved huge popularity, especially in Europe. And, thanks to its proximity to Glasgow, visitors flock to the distillery in their droves to experience the many tours and tastings on offer.

Sergeant, London’. The top case with reeded Corinthian columns and glazed sides. The trunk with reeded pillars flanking, over an inlaid shaped panel door on box base (crack to front panel of box base). Height 204cm, w46cm, d33cm. BUYER TO COLLECT OR ARRANGE COURIER.* Two clockmakers by the name of Nathaniel Sergeant are recorded as working at the period this clock was made, and may well have been the same person with the records misinterpreted. The first was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1763 and worked until at least 1786 and was also listed as an auctioneer; the second is recorded working in Cannon Street and was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1768 and worked until at least 1790.

Third Reich period Kriegsmarine U-boat clock. The silvered brass dial with Arabic numerals is numbered 12947N with an eagle and swastika over the letter M. The brass glazed bezel with lock to the three O'clock position is stamped 94 in a circular stepped brass case stamped with the movement numbed 12994 to the 20cm dia. back. Non original key. Note: By repute the vendor's grandfather worked in London Docks, and acquired this clock during his work.Condition Report: Some dents and scores to the case.Areas of soldering and polish residue. Slight yellowing to dial.Clock has been wound and is working. Attention from a restorer or clock maker is advisable to ensure continued working.
